With all the problems and half the population gone since the switch maybe we should just go back to OF. It might be too late for the people who quit to come back but the main issue I see is that people who like NF will still play in OF but it seems like people who like OF just wont say and play in NF.

Nope. We ride the NF wave until no one plays here any more. And how do you figure the population has halved since NF rolled out? It does not seem to me like the player decline increased significantly since NF, just been the same slow bleed.

They had ports in for weeks prior to the transitions and I'm fairly sure half the population didn't realize it was there or how to use it.

with the stupid delay at the porter you needed alot more time, also if the keep was not yours you were fked too

not exactly true, on this server keeps are only raided to fk up other realms and therefore yeah they leave emain, raid a keep and get back to emain, leaving hibs to run longer ways. its not that mids/albs would concentrate in breifine then...

You can even say out of the accurate graph that OF was more harmfull to Phoenix then NF, in its last month. But hey.. all players that left did it because of the changes the Devs made, not because their interest simply droped. (with or without changes)
I'm really happy that the staff is listening to its community.
And if Phoenix showed anything to all 'screamers' then that:
It doesnt really matters what you are doing with the freeshard. No matter whats getting changed, what course you choose as developer. The player decline is there and will stick declining until just a handfull of people is left.
This game (daoc) has so many diffrent playstyles as there are players, you cant favor or fit everyones.
You can make QOL that the majority loves, but there will be some people that dislike those changes and leave.
You can say (like uthgard did) you stick to a old liveversion, no matter what the community want.. and you will fail as well.

I feel that OF was better for me (solo-mid-visible-no speed). Having said that, I just prefer what is best for the server. NF and OF, are both bad in different ways. I will stay in my DF as long as I can. Come visit me.
On a side note, if you could, maybe 1000 solo kills in DF should grant you permanent access to DF, or just give me permanent access. That sounds balanced. Thanks.

The largest decline happened in May. This was after the charges changes and the salvage loot nerf.

On a related note:
There is really no evidence to back up your statement - the rate of decline is not perfectly constant, but close enough, even if you have to extrapolate the numbers for May.
Personally, I also fail to see how "nerfing" salvage loot would force anyone who cares about the game, server and community to quit. Money really isn't an obstacle on Phoenix if you just want to equip a toon or two and pay for consumables.
