Archer Damage (When Adding fights)

Is the ability for a RR4 Archer to slap out 2000 damage in 10 seconds whilst adding a fight really good for the server health/diversity?

Keep high damage if necessary, but please make Arrows similar to bolts, where they're pretty much guaranteed to miss if the person is in combat.

Archers still high damage if they want to pick open fights, but harder to just sit on a hill or a relic gate and add fights with impunity. There is no counterplay whatsoever to this playstyle... and that's a big problem.

Also, for keep sieges/zerg fights archers just need to target opponents not in melee combat, as they should be anyway, so no change there.

So punish a class that has to spec 50 in something to have decent damage at range, has to spec in a stealth line that is completely negated by a potion and has 0% chance to win once you are on them. because you chose to play a class without any specd range..

****When Adding fights, if the opponent is engaged in melee combat it doesnt matter if they have any ranged abilites other than instas.

I hate stealthers as much as anyone else, but 10 seconds is a long time to deal damage, adding to a fight or not.

I don't agree with OP but making up stuff doesn't really help to sound reasonable when disagreeing with him

No potion completely negates the stealth specline, that's just hyperbolical bullshit
Every healpot negates a dmg specline harder than the stealthpot negates the stealthspecline, and healpots only cost gold, while stealthpots are limited via claws

The ONLY thing this would do is reduce archers ability to add fights with impunity.

1v1, no change
Zerg, no change
Group fights, just pick a target that isn't in melee combat, or engage in melee.

No damage reduction in any other scenario.

Unless adding melee fights is really that important to archer classes?

What if there was an archer in your group (it could happen!) you wouldnt be able to attack any melee's with thier primary source of damage?

it probably constantly happens...
archer+assassin duo couldn't assist anymore for example

2000 dmg in 10 seconds....

looks like you've never ben trishot by a svg or a zerk, or debuffed by a cabby or ench and die in 1.5 seconds..

Would love to see a video of a savage or zerk 3-shotting anything. Three quad hits in a row would be once in a decade.

Are you sure?
Probably you've nver seen Hoinz or Maxxisto or other zerks explode mages or other squishy targets (also my cleric get's powned quite easily even if using chain).
My svg at 3L used to do 1000 quite often, so i'm not drunk, it's a fact

At least the opposite should be the case, improve archer damage again and give it a penalty when target is already shot by arrows. Not solo arachers are the pain in the butt, it ´s the archer assistrains. Solo damage is low compared to other toons, you need to have falcons eye very high and hope for luck with crits.
