A mezzed target is neither running nor moving. Why this nerf to Archers?

A mezzed target has been recently attacked and therefore is in combat?

Critical shot will not work against targets that are: running, in active combat (swinging at something), or mezzed

So even after a combat timer is down but a target is still mezzed there is no critshot? I do not remember this from live at all.

Does this mean they cant be shot at all with bow?
Either way, after the initial zzz's are gone you cant tell for sure they are mezzed and have to reload a different shot because of this change.
I mean, really, must still be too many archers out there or something?

Funny thing is, everyone is running with end pots sprinting and free hastner speed, I cant tell you how many times ive had crit shots switch to normal shots for no reason.

We are supposed to be able to crit people Walking. This was also before everyone had ENDURANCE POTIONS,HASTNER SPEED. So people where not always sprinting around, wasting their end for no reason.

You have effectively adopted a custom Archery sytem built off of Custom additions to the game. don't you think its time you adjust the archery system to the current custom version of the game this server is running? instead of still basing it off a time when the above mentioned weren't even implemented?

Let me ask one question.

Can you pa someone who is mez?

Then for balance purposes, you might as well be able to crit them.

That makes sense. Someone is helpless and you can't get a crit shot?

What about stun? If someone is stunned, technically aren't they in combat?

So can you slam then crit shot?

Furthermore, if someone is rooted or snared, then they are moving at less than running (definitely less than sprinting) or even less than walking speed.

Can a target that is rooted or snared but not actively in combat be critshot?

Hate to be biased realmwise but scouts are the ones getting seriously shafted with this change. Even before the last few updates scouts were hardly OP. They were a good to above average class to play.

At least rangers have decent to good melee compared to scouts PATHETIC melee(especially thrust). Around 70 damage for styles attacks after resists at BEST. Even Then hunter has decent melee with spear and have puppy as well. Scouts are currently a garbage class that is rp fodder for sneaks and visibles.

As a longtime Ranger player I have to agree with this. When ranged combat suffers at least Rangers and Hunters have other options/tactics to fall back on.

Scouts have a couple of options but they are iffy at best and only good in the hands of very experienced players.

The Devs need to un-nerf the archery here to make it equitable across spec options.

I sense sarcasm from this post..

I don't understand this change at all. What could possibly be easier than landing a crit on a mezzed person? Might as well just remove the skill...

Just love playing Rangers, and probably with just end up playing a Skald or SB, With this sillyness coming from Phoenix. I mean really wtf!?

Hate to say it but it has always been this way. Crit shots are the exception, not the norm.

No one ever walks...everyone is either running or sprinting...well mobs walk..that is why when leveling you can start with a crit shot.

The best way to land a crit shot is in keep defense on targets just standing around watching the door get rammed.

Or team up with class with stun (minstrel/scout duo is mighty) as you can land a crit on a stunned target.

Other than that..never count on a crit. It will only land on stupid targets or targets that are afk...or other archers that are in the process of firing.

This has got to be one of the stupidest things I've ever seen.

The whole time I've been following the Phoenix server development I have been excited to play a Hunter. I have disagreed with many CUSTOM changes, but this is the only real one I've looked at with disbelief.

Unless this is changed I wont be playing when the server goes live.

This has already been changed. Read the patch notes https://playphoenix.online/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=2499

Thank you very much for showing me this information.

I am glad that the faith I had in the team continues to be proven wise.
