Today, I was stealthing around in EV when I saw an opportunity to do what I thought could help out a group while earning some RPs for myself. There I went after what I thought was a Warden on one of their healers. But... having helped kill the warden, I was reprimanded to my surprise, told that I was stealing their RPs and to go away.
The conclusion here then is that...
#1. adding in RvR is effectively the same as stealing someone's XP in PvE
#2. solo people should stay out of RvR group fights because it doesn't matter if the group loses--it's a better outcome than being labeled a leech
#3. getting RPs is hard as it is for the group (obviously the same is true for soloers)
So... a simple way to fix this would be to not count solo adds as part of the shared RP pool (i.e., if you're not grouped, you don't take away from the grouped people's total RP intake in the same way as feathers are earned evenly, no matter how many add to the mob).
Otherwise RvR ends up being an exclusive "I call dibs on the enemy and you're not welcome" type of deal. Kinda sucks IMO because that's what RvR is supposed to be, although the loss of RPs because of an add is understandable to some extent, too. The downside to things being what they are is that it's a selfish game of personal gain rather than a game of trying to win as a realm. And I'm afraid that unless there's something to mitigate this, that's what it's going to continue to be. Hence, this suggestion's existence.
