Friar Help

So I rolled a friar, and got him to 50. I made a cheap template capping important stats, skills, resists all 24+.

I went with the spec of 39 staff/ 45 enhance/ 16 rejuvenate/ rest parry. My issue is, when it comes to RvR, especially solo, I feel like I hit like a feather. Out of the 1v1 encounters I’ve had, I maybe have got 2 below 70%hp. I feel like I barely evade, in addition to underwhelming DPS. I went with a 3.0 speed staff cause most people use weapon speed debuff skill. Maybe that’s the issue?

I’m only 2L6, current has tireless, Purge 2, and IP1.. can someone help me out and maybe point out where I went wrong?

Edit: I’m just trying to be more competitive in 1v1 fights, I don’t expect to have a 100% win rate. Only time I group rvr is in BG.

3.0 is entirely too fast for a friar.

The swing speed cap is 1.5s, and with 75 quick in your temp, your self d/q buff, 14% haste from pots, and 32% self celerity, you're very far beneath that cap.

Shoot for something closer to 4.3s. even with the attack speed debuff you'll do better, as weapons get a .3% damage boost for every .1s over 2.0s delay.

Cool, I’ll give that a try. It looks like a lot of drop staffs like Brazen defender have 5.0-5.5 speed, would I be wrong to use something that slow? And also, what’s the haste pot name, I couldn’t find them anywhere 😐

The slower the better is pretty much the rule of thumb, but I personally like to be as close to swing speed cap as possible. Also, a RoG staff with a lifetap could help solojg as well.

There are 2 buffs you don't have as a friar that if you don't get from potions you're doing yourself a disservice: Str/con and haste.

Potions are might and speed.
