Turning in Xp drops

Hey Guys,

just a quick Q on this to clear it up

so there are several great exp drops and you can turn in 10/11 i believe per character - so essentially the best form of PLing is to farm 20 sets of these items from 30-50 ?

I was just wondering, If the task is from - lets say 33-39 ... if i turn in 10 drops at level 33 I know i will achieve level 34 off of them

if i turn in 10 of those drops at the character is level 37 ... will i get 38 or will i get just a few bubbles of exp?

just wondering if i should be using them straight away when available or leaving them for later harder levels?

apologies if that was complicated, just have some 33-39 drops and wondering when is most optimal to use.

fixed amount of xp, so if you turn them in at higher level = less bubbs. Stacks are 10 max and not every stack gives a full level. mostly its more like 4-6 bubbs

I solo leveled a Ranger from 23 to 50 using xp turn in quests. My experience in Hibernia was if I did a task labeled level 23-27 for example at the lowest level available and then turned in the 10 I got a full level. This stayed the same until I got to level 45 then it seemed to take 2 turn ins (at the lowest level possible). It was higher number once I got to like 48 or so and 49 took about 3 or 4 of the 10 xp item turn ins. Leveling was very easy this way. I got 12 levels the first day just playing about 5 or 6 hours while surfing the web...then on weeknights playing a couple or three hours a night I got 5 levels until 45 then it was 2 or 3 per night.

My general rule of thumb is to turn in the xp items at their max worth, but that changes if you have a few stacks that stop at 43 or 47. Just be careful that you don't level passed their level range.

I feel like these items should just not be trade able, I have heard they're going to reduce the xp gain from them and I think that's because they don't want people farming them and buying lvl50 from the CM merchants.

I would much prefer them remain closer to current XP but only be usable while that character is leveling, forcing you to actually farm them which I feel like was the original intention.

If they do that, they need to fix albion xp items.
Few in the 20-39 range, and the mobs are often red/purp when the items are in your early level range.

The only reduction to the XP items I've seen is the bug that allowed you to turn in 11 items rather than just 10. Each individual item was a set XP amount, so just reducing the turn-in-able amount back down to 10 reduced the XP gained by the items.

I have not seen any talk of any further reductions to XP items, though.

I read a post by a dev stating they think it’s giving too much exp....

It’s weird tho, they design a pve system that encourages grouping yet the fastest way to level is solo exp items or buy off CM

I know which post you're talking about. It was Uthred (I think) talking about the 11 versus 10 bug, and that they'll keep an eye on XP after they fixed it back to 10 items per turn-in.

Hopefully there aren't any more reductions to the XP items, because they're so few in the upper 40's.

Yeah its a nice smooth way to get 50 when you can't group, but you still shouldn't be able to farm these items and trade them... should be forced to farm them yourself and level. I really fear people just buying i50 with task items and would rather keep the XP per item where they are and not sure they can do that if people can just buy them, it will be silly.

I can confirm it seems best to turn in 10 items at the first available level. Is it 23-28, turn in a 23 for max benefit. It's rough sometimes to solo as mobs can be yellow-red but with a partner, it's a breeze. I soloed most on my ranger and kited some OJs who were neutral to damage type bonuses and dealt more melee damage than I was willing to sit down to recover from.

As for trading the items to other players, I don't have a real issue with this. They are pretty valuable items so some transaction is likely. Plus, some classes are hard to solo mobs. Tough to solo a healer,etc when he/she can't find a group that night. I have noticed that the mobs that drop xp items do tend to draw people to groups. See someone or group killing mobs, ask to join. More bodies, more xp, more items, more fun. Oh, and meeting people if you're into that sort of thing.

The turn ins are a static amount of xp so obviously the optimal time to turn in is during the lowest available level.

My concern with the trading/selling of the items is not during first few months of the server but later on when people have their mains 50 and are leveling alts... lots of people will just farm on their 50 or buy off CM and then run the alt around handing in items, that seems like a broken system to me.

Stupid Question,

but with a 43-47 drop... can you turn it in @ level 47 to achieve exp?

wondering cause there are a few for -47 , but not much for level 48

Yes. 43-47 means the cap is 47.

You can still turn them in with 47. You could possibly get to 48 with enough (i.e.) 45-47 item

They have recently changed - and the change is a big one : XP-items are now designed they give the same amount of bubbles at each level. This means the amount of XP an XP-item gives scales with your own level. This means an item which is from level 30-40 is still very much worth it to hand in at 40.

Furthermore, the check if you're within the level-range of the item is done only at handing in the stack, not in-between. Meaning a level 30-40 item can be handed in as a stack of 10 at level 40.99 and you're still able to get full XP for them in level 41.

Here is an example of handing in 1x Bloody Cyclops Eye at level 41, getting to level 42 and then comparing XP-gains:

We changed it to the following:

"Level 1 to Level 25 - 10% of the experience needed for the next level per item.
Level 26 to Level 50 - EXP is reduced per item and per level by 0.25%"

DUMB nerf. This server will start out hot like Uth but settle into a much smaller base within 6 months. Additionally, XP'ing during NA Primetime is very different - less groups, less people.

Nerfing XP is DUMB. Seriously, rethink this. Make XP a thing to do to get to RvR. Make raiding a thing for XPers. Make BGs more fun so people level up in BGs. Make killing people HUGE xp. Make taking the CK in BGs huge XP. Add good loot and rewards for killing the bosses in BGs. Have kill tasks in BGs worth a lot of XP.

Do NOT create a stupid economy - continue to make more items available and templates EASY TO MAKE. Farming for that perfect ROG is a dumb waste of time.

MORE people in RvR zones is more fun than sitting in some SHITTY XP zone like Cursed Forest, or Malmo.

Please rethink your XP strategy. If i wanted stupid, I would be on Uth.

You have no idea what you're talking about. XP items still give a ton of xp. And they also added XP tasks that automatically give you free xp. Translation for dumb people, now it's even faster than before.

Item drops are still great xp. They were set too high before.

The nerf wasn't the xp per item.

They made it so that you can only turn in 10 items per level, versus using many sets of 10 to get to that next level. I've farmed all of those items myself so that I can level my toon, my 2nd toon, or my friends' toon. I've invested a ton of time to do so.

So, let's say i'm level 44 and I have 10 items to turn in. Usually that's worth about 5 bubbles. Before, I could turn in another level 44 set of items and hit 45. Now, I have to go XP to hit 45 because I can't turn in more items at that level.

Hope that makes sense. It's a bad idea. Nerfing XP is a bad idea.

I would imagine it counts towards the current level, so you are going to be wanting to use the best item(s) possible when turning in (i.e. your current level or very close to it).
