Overpopulation Fix?

In addition to the lower pop realms getting a bonus to RP's the overpopulated realm could get a -% to RP gains?

Example Hib is getting 30% RP bonus and Alb 10% so add them together and divide by 2 giving Mid a -20% RP gain. Make it less profitable to be in the overpopulated realm as well as more profitable to be in the underpopulated realm. There really isn't much of a negative associated to the overpopulated realm. Need a sting associated to push people other places.

Maybe put a minimum difference so if its less than 10% between the realms there is no penalty

Oh yes, a sting pushing people to another game, if you are punished for playing a certain realm.

Great idea.

Mids being so overpopulated NA it's already pushing people away.... currently NA you are punished for playing a different realm other than Mid. Want to attempt a keep defense against 60+ mids enjoy being stomped.

Thanks for the alternative solution, very constructive.

There is only two real fixes, return to 12 hour timer or no timer. Notice this wasn't an issue during the 12 hour timer because you didn't have realm hoppers zerg surfing the harder zerg during EU prime and then then the grumpy zerg during na prime. they had to choose which realm they were playing that day. No realm timer may entice people to change realms to balance the fights or it may make the problem worse.

Yup, this is my thoughts too. The only fix that will actually 100% work is the 12 hour timer. I really doubt the zero timer will do anything though, if people were inclined to balance the population they easily could have by now with the four hour timer. They all pretty much know what time which realm is going to have the numbers or the zerg to hop. They could have already acted accordingly if they ever planned on doin' it.

Can't say the GMs didn't try and warn us re: the realm switch timer. I agree with you Dadbod that's the primary factor impacting this issue.

Want to disagree with the assumption that realm timer is the cause. There was already a mighty midzerg at NA times which could raid anything. Problem is that hib and alb are lacking of raid leaders during this time. Beside that, it is a bad idea to punish people who wanna play a certain realm.

Dont use the whip then and double the bonus instead.

If you are a 8man: /gvg toggle.

If you are a smallman:

New experimental /fairfight command for solos and small man up to 5 players, similar to the already existing /gvg command
-/fairfight toggle - toggle being listed as looking for fair fights
- /fairfight list - shows a list of people flagged as looking for fair fights
- solos only see other solos, groups see their group size +- 1
- you cannot toggle / list and you are not shown in the list if you were in a too large group within the last 10 minutes or any group at all in case of solo

Use the command, promote it in /region and make sure your char name is searchable on Discord in case ppl want to reach out and meet at labirinths/EV.

Are people complaining about zergs constantly present in /gvg and /fairfight? If you macro the cmd it takes 1sec to activate it, much less than the few minutes wasted to open a thread that will go nowhere.

People are complaining because at a certain point in NA time, there is almost nothing else out other than the mid zerg. Every time I have used the command during my play time no one's on it.

So if you are a 4 man the issue is the zerg or the fact that on both other realms there is not a single 3, 4 or 5 man with /fairfight toggle enabled?

If you are outnumbered so heavily that command is the only chance you have to have some fair fun somewhere else (i'd suggest in an area where you have labirints). Do a reminder macro to remind in /region your fellow realm mates that it exist.

It costs 1 second to spam it and it costs nothing to be on an empty list. Human brain adapts very slowly to change and needs of constant reminders for something rhey have never used in years and years of play. At least try before giving up this great command.

An option to have a popup reminder to enable it would be great but it's already good enough.

Problem being no one's on the list, ran around for three hours last night got like 20 kills. Ran to all the hot spots but there was just no one around. Tbh I am not even sure if there was a zerg running, wasn't paying attention to it that much. Took a tower or two, ran into one other small man three times, there was one mid 8man and one alb 8man roaming. Idk if it's just the time I end up playing in, but action's just stagnant.
