Multiple accounts vs. account sharing

Hey

So according to the rules ...

1.1 Multiple Phoenix accounts are not permitted.

There may only be one account per person. Measures are incorporated to detect multiple user accounts. This includes creating an additional Phoenix account when banned or suspended.

but at the same time ...

1.3 Account security is the responsibility of the account owner.

Sharing accounts is NOT strictly prohibited but is done so at the player's own risk. The problem with sharing accounts is, that it makes it almost impossible to determine who is playing the account, and thus both players (and both their accounts) become responsible for any misconduct on either account. Be safe and just don’t do it.

This seems contradicting. Should my friend share or even gift his account to me, i'd be in possession of two accounts, which is obviously against §1.1, but seems possible under §1.3.

Can someone clarify please?

I assume #1 refers to ownership. Specifically targeting multiboxers (buffbots etc..)

For example If you're out of town and your friend wants to play your assasin, that's fine since it is still only one user, you're just sharing it. Hes not botting with it etc.. just keep in mind if you do share it and he does something to get it banned, the admins wont help you.

You, as single person, are not allowed to create more than 1 account - as described in rule 1.1. The account creator is considered the owner.
In addition rule 1.2 also limits the simultaneous use of accounts to 1.

If a friend a willing to share his account with you (according to rule 1.3), then you are free to use his account, but the friend will be the owner still.
However, you are not allowed to log his account + your own at the same times as this is against rule 1.2.

These 3 rules do not contradict each other but going hand in hand to outline what's allowed.

Yes. Just don't play 2 accounts at the same time. Seems quite easy to follow.
