Beating a dead horse here....

I understand that the dev's had tried to change the keep task in rvr, and went back to the old way of doing so. With that being said there has to be a better way of funneling people humping a keep, and ppl throwing themselves at a keep for a little bit of xp/rp. Is there any way we can look at this again. I feel many "sandbaggers" are just humping these tasks for easy kills, and in the long run of rvr kills it as people just sit at the keep task. What if we changed it from keep to a tower? towers are easier to take, and harder to defend, thus resulting in a larger turn around in a task. This would require people to move a little bit more than sitting at a keep for an hour, and or waiting an hour to throw themselves to the wolfs.

It is an idea, but I feel the keep task needs to be visited again, and get players OUT in rvr, vs sitting around a keep. I think keeping the task moving, and players involved in the game would be neat to see. I understand people want rps/xp, but it really is an rvr zone, not a "give me free crap cuz its 2019 and i want my participation ribbon".

Im sure others have other suggestions to get people out and about, but the other night no bg's were out and literally nothing was happening other than keep task, and those circling the keeps till it ends... Gotta get people out there, and engaged in RVR!

Just my two cents... Have a good weekend everyone!

in general i agree with your point, i am just usnure how to solve it...

your suggestion sounds good on firest sight, but i am sceptical how it would really play out. What if it just enables the biggest zerg to just complete task after task after task every 5minutes, because it can take towers superfast and often before defense arrives.

And in the case of defense arriving it results in a similar situation that happens now

Amen to all of this. Action is garbage 90% of the time. Grump and those turds just jump keeps 24/7. Surely there is something that can be done to get these guys to engage in actually RVR that isn't humping keeps and stuck to Grumps butt.

Because that's exactly what they'd do. If there were no keeps to hump, his "20 man" BG would just stick him and Zerg down everybody.

The shit is lame and I've been saying it for awhile now. RvR sucks a$$.

People are humping keeps in response to the crappy XP changes. Now it's a lot faster to either A) farm your own XP items with an AoE class or B) AFK it out and suicide on the long-term RvR task while proccing the short-term RvR task with branches/snow/soil or dying to a player. Needs to be fixed ASAP before more people quit.

People have always humped keeps here...did the XP Change really influence that? I really doubt that

You're right, I didn't mean to say it was the only reason they were doing it. However, keep humping has definitely taken a huge leap in priority over soloing, with only an optimized group being faster (maybe) and farming nerfs being so many and varied.

Personally I'm not even bothering trying to group anymore, and I've played pretty consistently since server drop. I tend to be a fairly good judge of how things trend on Phoenix (and MMOs in general) and especially in PvE - it has hurt a lot of players. I've already talked to two players *just today* who were struggling to level 20-30 and said they would rather quit than grind xp mobs or AFK out the task, and they're far from the first.

The number of players who have told me they'd rather just quit than put up with the new grinding speed was enough that I've been very vocal about how much the changes are hurting the server population.

I think it's wild that people are bitching about the xp. My friend and I decided to test this out. We duo' to 24 in no time flat. It was fast, we turned in the little bit of xp items we found. No multiple stacks. We used token we got from completing the xp tasks. We lvld in long forgotten dungeons. It was easy and quick. Granted this wasn't to lvl 50, but I think it still stands.

its not hard to lvl in daoc, ppl are just lazy and dont wanna do it anymore. why cant you solo? tinderboxes and buff pots make soloing a joke. find you a low lvl support to tag along and wreck some mobs.
