Not sure if this was the right place to post so I apologize in advance.

Played daoc a long time and my brother is convincing me to play PHOENIX since it’s a rollback and free. I have a few questions I was hoping you could help me answer:

Are bots a thing? If not, what combats that? Are buff pots the primary source of buffs or is it just none all together? Is there a cap on RRs or RPs etc?

Thanks in advance

No Bots. Buffs come from buff classes or from a bottle(potions). The potion buffs pale in comparison to full buffs from the spec buff classes but obviously better than nothing. The potion buff that is available from 30 on gives you everything but end regen, power regen, and damage shield with 1 click. There is a 1min RvR combat timer before it can be used/reused.

The staff does a pretty good job of sweeping got multi-accounts regularly.

No notable cap on RR or RPs. You can stay in BGs longer now. Thid cap is 2L9 rather than 1L4 like it used to be. The. BGs beyond thid scale up from that new 2L9 cap I believe. You can also start "participating" in lvl 50 RvR at level 35 and collect task ticks that reward some experience and RPs that can boost you up to 2L0~ with a dozen or more completions allowing you to get some RAs to help with leveling.

As a final note if you and your brother are playing from the same location on the same IP you must be playing the same realm.

Have a look at the charplan as some things might be different from what you remember. The /advice channel is useful too for new starters.

There are omnibuff pots you can use when running solo/smallman for both buffs and regenmana/end/hps.

Compared to classic server levelling is fast.

EU morning time to around 5pm is fun for solo/smallman action.

I can add more info depending on which realm you want to play on. Realm switch timer is 4hrs so you can play on different realms if you have time to exp and equip multiple chars.

Some events are great, this weekend there will be a 5man zone where you can grp with classes from different realms, like on alteri server but with more grps at the same time. Lots of ppl will come back just to have fun with the event, I would vote to have it once a month!

Let us know what's your name in game to get some more help once you've decided, there are lots of ppl happy to help new starters.

How do the bots get put in check? Are the buffs ranged or do they have a quick afk timer? If there's an AFK timer, a simple timed macro could keep the buff bot from appearing afk. What if someone had a bot that they just stuck onto their main toon when running?

My bro and I dont live together anymore, but we had planned on playing a skald/sham duo to make sure we would have buffs available for when we played RvR. I had already assumed if there were no bots that the buff pots would be lackluster in comparison.

I already took a look at the char plan to double check skills etc.

I assumed the pots were lackluster so my bro and I had decided on a skald/sham duo for RvR. If the pots are somewhat decent then maybe we could change classes to something else.

We're playing mid and obviously we have played the game before. My in game name is Cheex and Im from Guin originally. Anyone who played the retail version and was involved in the solo stealth game after the ywain merge would know my SB, Pacheex, from a few years back.

Are UIs allowed on Phoenix and if so, is there any compatibility issues with old UIs from the retail version? I started playing back in 2002 and cant stand the new icons and not having some customized options on UIs.

I'm sure it's a combination of IP monitoring and player reports. GMs will test you if they feel your"friend" is you dual logging a bot.. Aka you jump up and down while your friend runs in figure 8s over there. Something one person wouldn't be able to reasonable be able to do at the same time.

Sounds like you guys won't have any problem. Good luck out there.

This seems pretty true of NA nights. Can't speak to the Euro population balance, sadly, as I live in Vegas and don't get to play with them much.

OP - Welcome to the server! Tell all your friends. /Advice will certainly be able to help you out in game, and if you can't find anyone online at the time to answer, just pop back over to the forums. Good luck!

Sorry, played Mid about 90% of the time originally. Only played hib/alb when I rolled solo sneaks. Plus I find it a lot easier to duo with speed/buffs on Mid opposed to bard/druid or minst/cleric.

Play the realm you like to play. Underpopped realms get nice xp/feather/rps bonus. Relics change regulary anyway, usually equally distributed to all three realms.

In average, Midgard is overpopped during NA-prime.
In average, Albion is overpopped during EU-prime.
