So when I used to play DAOC almost 20 years ago the most fun part was stealthing into keeps. This cant be dont here on phoenix. Dumb as hell and the amount of guards in keeps, the pathing threw walls, and there health in general is to high. This should have been fixed already but please get rid of this. The terrible buffs we have as solo players dont stand up to these guards at all, then they go right threw the wall at you as you try to escape. And not to mention if you unstealth by a keep the archers instantly hit you without any cast time or pullback on there bows. great stuff!!

If a mob is close enough to you they path to you directly instead of moving node to node, so if you jump from wall with a guard smacking you he's tagging along.

For guard bulk I dunno. Handful of people or solo they're tedious but in a zerg they quickly explode with the exception of reds. I agree their numbers are still high especially on the oblong shaped keeps but think it quickly goes from overpopulated to barren looking or undefended. Like being able to run around sections of the courtyard without any guard aggroing probably shouldn't be possible with a full spawn

The 2 gold per kill in RVR is pitiful to. Mise well farm mobs they drop more per kill. This is an RVR oriented game still right? These are simple fix's that help the game and nothing done yet is kinda ridiculous. In-game appeals work 0-10 times so this staff needs a swift ass kicking.

Yes, these volunteers who have put thousands of dollars of their own money, and thousands of man hours of their free time, into making this server for you to play on for nothing need an ass kicking because you don't like some of the choices they made.

You also need an ass kicking for being an entitled, selfish, moron.

Theurg pets and FnF shrooms die on their own when the caster lives so why would they suddenly be linked to their caster's death when he does happen to die?
ofc Menta/Mins/Sorc pets won't kill over because they're just charmed mobs

I ve seen stealthers successfully kill people inside of keeps many times, so maybe you need more practice. Furthermore you don´t understand pet-mechanics and guards have a delay before they shoot you. Sometimes you can´t see the animation of a guard pulling back the bow but there is a delay. Judging by your lack of knowledge and the way you talk i can understand why nobody is answering your appeals. I wouldn´t either...

Wrong
Archers pull back and will hold until someone comes into range los and then loose. Devs went into describing the action in some other thread.

Can't hear shit like this anymore on the forums here. Just because you criticise people, you don't kick their ass, he is stating valid arguments and in fact, the scouts are way to strong, hitting immediatly for 390-420 dmg a hit is insane (on leather). It needs to be addressed and fixed, nothing else to say. I appreciate the devs, just because I am suggesting things that needs to be fixed / done better I am not kicking their asses.

When your boss faces you with an argument that comes in handy and he is totally right, is he kicking ur ass too? no he is trying to get the best out of you.

The archers do hit you instantly. Happened to me many times as soon as I hit a pot or /use I am hit before the instant restealth 1 second after. Not every time but a lot of times. Them going threw walls, well pathing shouldn't be that much of a issue since they fixed that over 15 years ago on old daoc I am sure these phoenix puppies can do it to. And the amount of guards also is way overboard. Joffel I wonder if you have ever played a stealther? You should'nt even comment since your lack of knowledge shows you have no idea what you're saying. You can kill someone in a keep sure, but getting away is near impossible and going over the keep walls just has guards going threw the wall at you not to the door and around like they always have in DAOC.

@easy - I am just stating that the shrooms should die. It makes no sense if the essence that brought them to life dies....they die to. These are forest hearts, when the linked heart that made them dies, they for sure should also. People getting free points and/or killing people while they run back is cool!!

Unless you're going to deforest the grove you aren't killing the shrooms' essence and the Animist has no control over them from their summon to their death.
If it was a focus spell or draining power in pulses you'd have a point

Guard mechanics can be a bit confusing. They do not shoot instantly at anyone in range. This is easily tested, go do it.

However, what they do, is whenever someone is in range, is they draw the bow and can then hold it indefinitely. This means if you're in range when you unstealth for rebuffing or if someone else was in range, then they're still holding an arrow and will fire immediately if you're in LoS or unstealth in LoS. It was changed not so long ago that at least they need LoS now though, which is a big improvement. Why you would ever unstealth in a guard's LoS to rebuff is beyond me, but knowing how they work helps a bit.


Also, it isn't 2g per kill if you're solo. Solo kills generally net 17g I think? I don't have screenshots and don't keep track, someone else can confirm. If you're getting 2g it's because you're grouped or killing lowbies.

Nothing he said is wrong, and nothing you said is wrong. Guards will not fire instantly except under specific conditions

Have you read what you quoted?

Ramppage was quoted explicitly stating that the staff needs an asskicking...and that is what Excretus replied to.
No idea why you applicated that critique to yourself, and while i very often disagree with stuff Excretus says, in this case he is 100% spot on.

Critiquing staff decisions and asking for them to get their ass kicked are two different things
