Is there or would it be possible to add a macro that executes multiple actions - as long as they respect the macroing policy (no conditions/delays/repeat...)?
I understand that currently macroing to have multiple keystrokes is allowed and possible through 3rd party programs or dedicated peripherals.
That would allow the same directly from game.
It could take a form like this
/qexec 5 1 1 - executes 5th action from 1st bar of the primary action bar.
/qexec 5 1 1, 6 1 1, 7 1 1, 1 1 2 - executes 5th, then 6th then 7th actions from the 1st bar of the primary action bar, then 1st action of bar 1 of the secondary action bar.
/macro mymacro1 /qexec .... would then work as usual thus allows to attribute that multiple keystroke to one macro button.
The advantages for that are :
- gives all players the same competitive edge without the need to use 3rd party software or dedicated hardware
- easy in-game macroing, simple command without hassle
- more flexibility, allows different customizing for different characters, etc.
The possibilities offered are standard and answer a legitimate way for actions such as :
- single target heal and nuke on one key based on if you click an enemy or ally.
- positional style and anytime style in that order to same button
- assist and debuff
- face and mezz
- switch to appropriate weapon before executing style
