What is the best overall shield here for a warrior?

I have asked hundreds of players, and not one could tell me the answer.

After research online, i came up with (heater shield 3.8spd Large). For 3 blocks with fastest atk spd.

However, since so much on this server has been changed, i can't tell.

The crafted exceptional heater shield is 3.5spd and medium, which is different from the researched answer above...and there is a large shield that can be bought with feathers that has a 3.0spd and another with 3.6spd...

Is there anyway that we could get a list of shields that block 3 attacks(on this server)?

A list of shields with offensive or defensive procs and procs that applied to shields are offensive or defensive would also be very helpful.

Information like this should be put in a stickied post on the forum.

Thankyou,

A

Use whatever shield is best for the appropriate situation.

Slamming? Especially in a Tank Train? Get the fastest little bastard you can.

PvE? Large shield, swap proc shields as needed (heal, ablative, dot, etc.)

Running from point A to point B? I like the largest shield possible (dependent on class) with a DoT proc to punish Archers that are dumb enough to shoot at a guy with a Shield.

I can't remember if multiple attackers matter in RvR regarding shields. I don't think they do but someone else can chime in here. If they don't matter then Small Shield. If they do matter then Large Shield.

It's a fluid environment regarding shield choice so be as prepared to swap your shields as you are with your weapons.

Almost perfect summary, i would just disagree on the largeshield when running from A->B...the smaller the shield, the more dumb archers shoot at it, which is lots of fun

shield size on this server only affects pve stuff --> the bigger the shield the higher the block cap
in rvr use fastest shield you can get

btw imo there is a large shield with 3.0 speed at feather merchant.... this is just 0.2 s more that the fastest crafted shield, but you dont have to swap

Thank you all for the replies,
This was one of the shields i was considering.
Does the lifetap proc on this shield work when the shield is hit? Or, when the shield hits or both??
Personally, I hate swapping shields/weapons/anything. So, if it doesn't work reactively, it is useless to me.

Thankyou,

A

Reactive is when hit
Volatile is when hitting

But that is for armor/weapon respectively

Shield is sort of both so...

procs on shields work in "both directions" here

So you can apply a reactive OR volatile
And get results for offensive AND defensive?
Or is application limited to one or the other?

i haven't tested it with various crafted procs, but when i was still playing my warrior i got a reactive proc while being attacked and then another when i slammed
Regionchat told me: proccs on shields are reactive and active at the same time here (maybe that also applies to weapons when you parry?)

Would be a good question.
But is Active correct term? I think that is /use type

Yeah, good point...active is misleading because it's indeed what i would call use-items/charges

offensive/defensive reactives probably distinguishes better between them
