A few things that may need change, and some others that could stay after release

For discussion convenience, i numbered all of my proposals.

1. Make the /trade chan work woldwide. This channel is intended for global trading and I do not see any reason why it should be limited to your current location. This may be fixed already by the way (any feedback ?).

2. Leave open the permanent /respec realm. This allows characters saving realm point abilities for a big one to keep using their up to 13 points in the meantime. Moreover, it means that we can have a character both efficient in RvR and epic PvE, making raids more interesting. The only important fix here is that a /respec realm should not let you reset your RA timers.

3. Leave open the /respec all until lvl 50. Some characters have a skill like dedicated to solo playing, and another that may be group only or group friendly. Allowing characters to respec along their way to 50 means that these characters should not have to choose between a solo playstyle and a group one, ending in a more enjoyable PvE experience. However, once they hit 50 they should have their definitive setup.

4. Automatically stack looted and traded xp items. For now, if another player trades with you these items and you already looted some, both piles do not stack on their own and if you have a lot of cash loots in your invetory it could be really confusing.

5. Add a /destroy #bag1 command. In case you play a character with very few strenght or you are full and forget to bring a portable merchant, destroying a lot of useless cash loots at once can be quite handy.

6. Remove the instant frontier teleporters (the ones leading to enemy frontiers) and go back to the necklaces and five minutes timer teleporters. I assume the instant teleporters are currently here for purpose of fast action and to balance the small community, but I fear it could end with your own frontiers swarming with enemies you could not repell, especially during keep/relic attack. In my opinion, this can obviously stay as it is during beta, at least until we want to test the mass scale RvR.

7. Allow to stack from inventory to account vault. Just because I first have to get my pile of things from the vault to my inventory, then stack them in my inventory, then get them back in the vault and it is annoying and probably unnecessary.

8. Give us the actual horse routes, so we know which horse we can take when we want to jump before the final stop. New routes may be quite confusing, especially for experienced players who are used to certain routes.

You make a good point that the home realm has a harder time making it to the action than their enemies do.

This could be rectified by adding home frontier zone teleport targets.

Each realm would be able to port to their keep in the portal keep zone (or nearest one if that was held by an enemy).

If the door of a keep is damaged and there are enemies engaging the guards, it could block teleporting in. This prevents teleporting in for keep defense.

Another rule could be that frontier teleporters don't work if you are died by rvr within the last 5 mins. This balances the travel time by adding a new death penalty rather than speeding up the home realm.

I like this list. Most of these things are just QoL changes that they will hopefully add in the future.

1. No reason not to have this be the case

2. I think decisions you make for your character should be important in this game. That being said RA respecs shouldn't be a super difficult thing to get. I like the idea of a middle ground where they maybe cost 300-500g a pop once you are 50. This makes your choices feel a little bit meaningful, but also isn't punishing to the point where it kills you to respec. Feathers have done a good job of replacing the medium quality "filler" drops from raids, so I don't think we need to stress about RA respec stones.

3. I thought I'd find the ability to respec at any level and train from anywhere to be something that would cheapen the game experience, but it is actually really nice. I like both soloing and grouping and it is nice to be able to hop between the two. It also allows you to try out more unconventional specs to see if they are fun. PvE in DAoC is pretty cool, but let's be honest, no one wants to be inconvenienced too heavily by the grind.

4. It would be nice to see this fixed.

5. Yes! The RoG system can be nice, but playing a caster is extremely frustrating at times. DAoC loot management blows, and I often just destroy all my new stuff without even looking at it out of frustration.

6. This I'm inclined to disagree with somewhat. The old necklace system is absolutely miserable. I'd prefer to see an RvR res illness of some sort added. This way you can continue actually playing the game instead of alt-tabbing or staring at the other players on the pad, but renders you essentially impotent. RvR res sick = snared, effectiveness debuffed, cannot gain RP from kills, worth reduced RP to enemies. The timer can be scaled as the devs see fit, but I think anywhere from 1.5-5 minutes could be justified. It stacks if you die with it up and resets the timer.

7. Yes

8. I'm guessing this will be implemented at some point.

I really love this list and have really strong feelings about #2/3.

I have loved the ability to respec while leveling, playing with different builds and soloing /grouping.... if you don't have this type of respec then I am pretty much locked into lvling one way with no changes unless I play a ton and can afford to buy respecs willy nilly... really believe this enhances the game experience. Also agree locking this out at lvl50 is fair.

Same with the realm abilities, maybe you could lock out free respecs after RR6 or something (at that point you should be capable of managing respecs and have less of a need/desire to respec for pve only).

Just remember that his opinion is valued just as much as yours.

You can easily say you simply disagree, but calling anyone stupid for having an opinion makes you look like a 2 yr old...

I can express my opinion as I think it is right. I think that you are a little Zerg player, just as I think that this proposal to "remove Instant Port" is insane.

Well if your only argument is that I am insane or crazy, that is probably a bad start for a discussion isn't it ?

Let me remind you how things are going in any adults talking : someone says something. He or she adds arguments to support his or her view (that is what I did after the bold part of my message, the part you deleted when you quoted me). Someone may disagree and will state his or her own view on the topic, and present his or her arguments. Then someone else will do the same. Usually on the Internet, at some point someone will get mad because there are people who disagree with him or her and starts calling everyone a nazi (because I am right you know, so you should understand you're wrong and stop disagreeing with me), but really we can skip this part if you don't mind.

I'm afraid you may be right and I may be wrong, but the bad thing is that you cannot just insult me to make your point (yes, even if you're absolutely sure that you are right because you are handsome and clever and had four 12L character and stuff). Unless your goal is just to laugh with people who already agree with you. You cannot really call that an opinion though : the proper word for is flaming.

1. Make the /trade chan work woldwide.
Possible

2. Leave open the permanent /respec realm.
Not going to happen but all respec stones are rather cheap

3. Leave open the /respec all until lvl 50
Would have to be discussed

4. Automatically stack looted and traded xp items
Bug and will be fixed

5. Add a /destroy #bag1 command
Possible but dangerous as there are unsellable items which would be destroyable

6. Remove the instant frontier teleporters
Not going to happen

7. Allow to stack from inventory to account vault.
Bug and will be fixed

8. Give us the actual horse routes
We won't have the actual horse routes but the intention was to keep important jump off points, if a really important jump off point is missing you can report those

Will it be viable for a rather casual player to respec RAs as well as the speclines of his character before every gaming session?

Let's consider Joe, he has a Warden named Doe. Joe has a wife and kids, but he manages to play on 3 evenings each week. In each gaming session he has like 3 hours time. On weekends, he usually manages to play another 6 hours. This results in a weekly time budget of 15 hours for playing his Warden Doe on Phoenix.

On some evenings, he feels like playing solo RvR is the right thing to do, because he has to look after his youngest child alongside. Thus, he sometimes has to stop for several minutes, which prevents him from joining a group, but rather do his own thing. Hence he would like to set up his speclines as well as RAs for solo play accordingly. Significant amount of spec points go into Weapon and Parry, almost none into healing. RAs are Ignore Pain, Master of Blocking, Purge, TWF.

On other evenings, his wife is taking care of the kids, so he can play with his buddies undisturbed. They play group RvR and urge Joe to run a healing spec with RAs accordingly: Det9, Purge and TWF.

It happens that those evenings alternate and he has to respec before each sitting.

Will it be viable for Joe to respec his Warden every evening he finds time to play?

By that same argument you could ask for a class respec since joe might want to play a druid on some evenings and a warden on other.

The respecs are now free before level 50 to ensure everyone can spec to whatever a level group needs and at 50 the respecs are easily achievable but not to the point that you can respec every day without some time investment in getting the stones.

Based on that, If you want free respecs for life just RP off at 49.5
