Majority wanted NF, assume not for better keep warfare?

@staff, now that taking keeps is almost impossible especially during NA time - any plans to make it possible like we had it in OF?

Alot keeps were taken yesterday, EU and NA Primetime, even with heavy defend, no idea what you talk about.

It is really hard, I think that is a good thing.
I feel I can actually make a great difference in keep defences, and not feel trapped as defender.
And attackers have to work for it, by first cutting ports all over, making defenders guess which keep they will attack.

There are still issues, sure.
Forest hearts are constantly being placed on walls/roof, with gates still up, and guards have to many hp's imo.
It feels like guards are designed for a ToA patch.

I can't even compare siege to OF, NF is a league several levels above OF.


Midgard worked for a very long time to manage to get Albion down to 1 keep yesterday, and lost several times in trying to take Rena or Hurb.
In OF this would have all been done in less than 2 hours, and then Albion would have been completely blue.

I am glad you are having fun with a zerg during weekend prime-time but let's look at real numbers. NA runs 200 or so population. Out of 200, realistic number of pvp players is around 4-5 full groups. You need the majority if not all of these players to help with keep taking. If you have defenders then forget about it. OF keeps might look stupid and old fashioned but we are old-fashioned people here and want to be able to do what we did during classic live years.

Population will not go up unless you throw abydos at us "according to my notes from 2002, summer is when players are in summer camps and once parents take them back, we'll be back to 5k population".

Similar keep structure and other mechanics in ESO - rarely you see less than 60-100 people taking a keep. PvP zone probably has 10k-20k population at lowest point during the day.

Unfortunately you can't place OF keep in NF zone, I don't think it's possible. Anything else can be done to make this game fun for us, the clueless NA players?

Keeps should be hard to take, not the pushovers they were previously.

Yes, I see it now, I agree 100%. We should also spend years getting to 50 because 3 days to 50 sounds too easy. Maybe when we die in RvR we should get electrocuted in our chair in RL.

My thoughts are:

Towers are easy to take, and dictate Darkness Falls ownership.
Keeps are difficult to take, and dictate relic gates opening.

Keeps should be hard to take.

I don't know why you're being so combative with me, we get along in game.

Hey! not combative at all. I am being a bit sarcastic on whole push to NF because everything supposed to be better, you know 65% approved the migration, but the keep warfare that should be crucial part of the game is now gone, at least NA time.
Those keeps look all nice and shiny but they are monsters and not meant for 200 population (total) - maybe 40 (rvr)?

I agree with the keeps should be hard to hard to take sentiment.

My only complaint is some realms have a distinct advantage when it comes to keep/tower placement in relation to bridges/docks. Getting to them should be slightly perilous but some docks have towers/protection comically close others are a bit of a hike. It makes no sense.

I think what you should be suggesting then, is for guards/gates to scale with the pop at the time.

The design is vastly better, but I do understand it must be frustrating to never be part of a keep take due to your timezone.

Keeps should be a part of the game and have a purpose (df, relic, cut ports, kill rp for defenders and attackers, etc), but not be, in isolation, an activity the majority of rvr does to get realm rank.

Zero incentive to not just take keeps, regardless of defenders, and get plenty of rp to rank up.

Is this rvr or rvkeep?

Makes no sense the keeptake task gives so much rp without any limit. This server is whack a mole with keep BGs with very few actual fights and very little incentive to actually fight.

This is why there are rr10+ players who log on and announce keep take and 70% of the active rvr population just joins the BG and sticks keeps.

There should be an obvious problem when you see keeptake bgs from all 3 realms just taking keeps in each other's maps without even interacting. Why not force these bgs to fight or centralize them around keeps? There's some clever devs here and I wish they'd get rid of this whole PvDoor system that's killing the fun for many (as proven by dwindling population over the months)

Why would crim be on fire and a whole hib bg be in albion? If your homeland is on fire you should be forced to defend it for the task, not just ignore it and go find an empty keep to take, knowing crim will just be nice free keep task rp after it's taken.

Yeah I play alb too. I'm not saying people 'actively' avoid a fight, but it sure is convenient how often the keeptake bgs end up at different keeps.

Playing on Hib atm, leaders do not avoid fights most of time, except when we're like 25 vs 80 like it did happen last sunday late night. Pilzp used to in the past, now it's over. Same thing for Albion imo, and Mid's zerg is strong enough sometimes to destroy both other zergs, i do not see them avoiding fights, even if... Now i remember, yesterday they just tried to run off one battle while boths zergs were pretty even kinda surprised us to be honnest.

I constantly see massive green, blue and red spam, don't seem to me that zergs are dodging much.

the defenders advantage imo is too big (but overall the keepdesign is still better than OF).

The problems are that there are no destructible walls, which are a huge benefit for attackers to open up multiple options to breach into the keep.

Additionally the no-LOS scouts are ridicolous and imo there needs to be a solution found for those (if not already happened...have been away a few days)
