Game has stopped working

I followed all the steps to get started and even made a character. The problem is when i select my character and hit play , the game crashes and says t has stopped working. No other information is given.

Did you patch to live then run phoenix launcher?

Additionally, this is often caused by custom UI. Did you install one? Try switching to Atlantis UI and see if you still crash.

This is a fresh install. No special UI or anything. Yes i have patched the main client then went into my DAOC folder and ran the phoenix.exe

Have you pressed the two buttons on the launcher? One is fix maps.

If not that, try creating a new character?
