Is your pulse still going? You may want to turn that off.

Not sure, that's weird... there are no resists. It states in logs each time that 'You release control'
Are you sure you don't have a qbind out of place or an AHK macro that is wrong?

Hard to tell but it definitely seems to suggest you are purposefully releasing it at those times.

Are you using AHK for anything? If you have AHK sending 'Ctrl+1' (for example) somewhere and you hit 6 on your keyboard (for quick cast) near the same time, its possible that the two are interfering with each other and you end up pressing Ctrl+6.

Either something like that or its a weird bug I haven't seen before on my mentalist - but i haven't played him much.

Yeah, Im not using any AHK or macros, my release pet is Cntrl-5 no Q-bind or anything. I'm not manually releasing it. I've also seen this happen to other ments we group with.

Well its definitely not the way it should work.

You say that it is happening for other ments you know? Can they provide recordings to? Perhaps create a bug report together with that evidence.

If it's just you I would still search for a local cause....

At the risk of irritating you: your not using a gaming keyboard of any kind? No software elsewhere that could be modifying key strokes?

Do you get the same behaviour on a different machine?
Have you tried deleting you character config files and setting up from scratch?
Simple test might be removing the release pet button from the visible bars, qbind it to an unused key somewhere and see if the behaviour still happens.

Sorry... clutching at straws maybe. Feel like if this was a server side bug there would be lots of noise about it on the forum.

Not irritating me at all just trying to get this sorted out.

I do have a gaming keyboard that has macro keys but non are set they just mimic F keys atm.
Haven't tried on a diff machine as I only have the one.
Haven't deleted config files but i will try that.
I will also try deleting it from the visible bars and Q-binding.

What's weird is that it only happens in combat, I just grabbed a pet and tested it and it worked as it should.
Could there be an effect that is cast on the pet that is interrupting my charm or something to that effect?

There isn't any in-game effect that should cause that behaviour.

The fact that it happens in combat only makes me more suspicious that its something local because:

Only whilst you are in combat will you be using your other buttons (spells, etc) so if one of those other key strokes is, for whatever reason, causing the release pet key to be hit then this would only happen 'in combat.'

You may want to take a pet, go to the dummies, try each of the spells you use in combat in turn 10 times in a row, see if it happens for any particular combination of key presses.

Perhaps try unplugging you gaming keyboard / disabling the macro software it uses / use a normal keyboard just to completely eliminate the keyboard causing something weird to happen.

When I get off work tonight i will totally redo binds and disable the gaming software.
I will try to recreate it. I swear I have seen it happening to another mentalist I grouped with I will see if there are any other cases of this happening.

The good thing about having a forum is people who have a problem can look through old posts to see if someone else has had the same problem. Deleting the post after your problem is fixed destroys the ability for anyone else to learn from other peoples issues.
