I got Realm Points for dying...explain the mechanics

I was leveling in frontiers.
I was killed twice instantly without any damage or cc given out.(mez, stun,train)
A short time later I was awarded 600+ rp’s

So why?
And what are the mechanics/timings of these rewards

You "participated" in RvR over the level of 35. Or turned in snow/branch/soil.

So how long do you need be in frontiers?
Is there a time need remain?
Would I have been rewarded if I left the rvr zones?

You can leave the RvR zones, just have to be online. Check /task to see how much time is remaining. Just to be safe, I wouldn't change zones around the time of the tick. It might work, but I never risk it.

You fed some higher rr and now you are part of the circle of life

This is also why we have high rr sb so fast - metric ton of albs suiciding into their pas or just sitting in emain.

The time is the same for everyone. It resets every 30 minutes for participation. There are also tasks that are for things like attack or defend specific keeps. Those can be extended if the keep is under attack. You can see what they are using /task.
