I have been unable to login since the restart earlier today (Monday, March 11). Please note that I am running Phoenix via Wine. The initial Phoenix.exe runs, but when I click the login button I get this dialog with error messages. Any advice?

Note: I have tried re-downloading the Phoenix Launcher and re-patching. That did not help. If you have trouble seeing the image I uploaded, I can transcribe the first few.

Something interesting happened ... Please try again.
System.Net.WebException: Error: SecureChannelFailure (The authentication or decryption has failed.) --> System.IO.IOException: The authentication or decryption has failed. -->Mono.Security.Protocol.Tls.TlsException: The authentication or decryption has failed. at Mono.Security.Protocol.Tls.RecordProtocol.EndReceiveRecord (System.IAsyncResult asyncResult)[0x00037] in <8379a859d93c4edda34ffa1ea26c9629>:0

and lots more...

Hmm...after consistently happening for about 12 hours, this error has gone away. No idea what changed since the last time I reproduced it just minutes ago.

Just as FYI
The error message does indicate that the TLS handshake failed, which is used to create an encrypted connection.

Recently there have been a TLS issue, effectively rendering all TLS certificates that have been created with that method insecure.

Major users like providers, Google etc. prob dropped them and got new ones.
Creating new for all scenarios might took them some time.

Getting this again since working around the patcher issue by updating my hosts file. Any thoughts as to a potential solution other than just waiting and retrying?

An nslookup still shows patcher.playphoenix.online at 104.27.134.174 and I know that my /etc/hosts entry is needed to reach the new address 88.99.68.136. When I take out the hosts entry the patcher is still unavailable because new addresses haven't percolated through the various DNS servers.

One thought: is there another playphoenix.online host address that I need to update in my hosts file in addition to the patcher?

Ok an glad am not the only one then....I was able to get around the patcher issue by fiddling with my host file per the instructions...logged once..and was kicked out of the server to come back to this error as well

Just a note that I am having this issue even after the proxy patch was put in.

I also tried a complete re-install from scratch (both DAOC and Phoenix) to no avail.

Any help appreciated.

Here is the error message (for some reason the image tags aren't working for this): https://imgur.com/QabBfg7

Based on my research this has something to do with SSL/TLS configurations between client and server. Any chance that those were changed in all this DDOS fighting?

It sure would be nice to see any response at all.

Appears to be an issue that the ssl version is not supported as is on mono / linux

Yes, and I also tried Wine Staging to get a later version, and updated Mono to the absolute latest. No joy.

Same boat as you. Oddly enough it worked once..after app!ting host file change under /etc/hosts

Now I get the same error as you
