So what is generally quickest?

Mobs in RvR area? Do they drop collection items?

Standard zone areas with collection tasks?

Dungeons in standard zones? Collection items?

I did a livestream Theurgist and Bonedancer 1-50.

Check it out. Also posted my findings in this PvE forum.

RvR zones will give higher xp per mob on top of dropping campfires which are amazing in all aspects of PvE. The problem is that you are constantly at risk of getting ganked. Higher XP per mob but no collection tasks which would make it slower overall.

Collection tasks in regular zones give so much XP that unless you are looking to collect some campfires, there's no point going to solo in the FZ. 10 collection items will give you a full level or just about. Just follow the collection task list down all the way to 50, see the realm forums or wiki for the list. Also there is no point in holding onto said collection items for future turn ins because there are some available at every stage of your journey to 50

Also, when you don't have a collection task going or are already maxed on items for a level and need to finish the level off with normal old grinding, start killing 15 of each mob type for the level 1 task bonus. Kill 15 elementals, get the xp bonus, then switch to reptiles or whatever for 15, repeat. Fast easy xp.

I have found that to only be true for the higher levels, and/or if you know where to find appropriate types closeby

At lower levels killing 15mobs with +300%bonus gives you more XP than killing 15mobs with a low bonus and getting one tasktick. Not even considering traveltime to new spot

Having leveled quite a few chars (mostly duoing) i can tell you the following:

1. XP Turn ins are King - use and abuse them in every way possible. plan ahead. dont waste them - be smart about when to turn them in. comes with experience. (scenario to clarify: level 35 char - got 2 sets of turn in items ready - turn in for both in the same town - 9 bubs left till ding - here id totally stay out on the field n grind enough xp to just ding from 1 set so i can immediately turn in the other - which means ill end up at lvl 36,65ish and can go ding again on my way of farming the next set so i can turn in again) this includes phoenix eggs. spend them wisely. (last level on casters before you get a new nuke for instance.)

2. MobTypeBonus is glorious - trust me. its way more valuable than task ticks, having a favorable dmg-type or whatever. killing mobs with 200+ xp bonus is just stupidly efficient even if they whack you for + and you hit them with -.

3. Use Buffpots - lvl 10 is achieved rly quickly. from this point on you should use buffpots at all times. the relevant ones that is. that means for casters ull want acuity and replenishment up at all times - usually u wont need dex since all you want is your bang/buck (or power in this case) ratio to be optimal. on lvl 30 u should have enough money to spend it all on a combined forces barrel. of course this tip benefits some classes more than others.....but unless you play a sham/cler/drood im positive that using the power buffpots is essential in optimizing your lvling experience - and every piece o gold spent on buffpots is well worth it.

theres more but i kinda feel like those 3 points are the pillars of quick n fun solo/duo leveling.

bonus tip: dont focus too much on killtasks - take em as a bonus and keep them on your radar...but dont spend much time on them.
bonus tip 2: once you are lvl 35+ make sure to suicide every once in a while in rvr - RR2 helps a TON during leveling by granting you access to crucial RAs.
bonus tip 3 mini edition: make sure to spend your "free realm ability point" that you get at...level 10 i believe (feel free to correct me on that i rly dont know ) on serenity or tireless depending on which resource you rely more on.

Good post. Only thing to add is first free RA point is at lvl 5, not 10

I prefer to solo here. It's very flexible because you dont need to worry about others. No sitting around waiting, bad pulls etc. I believe that time invested vs reward is much higher because you kill when you want, move when you want, and task items and eggs are a godsend. And in all honesty, with most solo capable classes, I think faster.

1. All 3 realms have very different expectations for task items. Hibernia is by far the easiest, then midgard, followed by Albion. The reason why is the mob lvls vs the minimum task lvl turn in. Pretty much every single mob in hibernia is yellow and blue for the minimum task turn in. Midgard has more oj and a few reds but most are yellow. Albion is almost entirely oj and red pre 30. So if you solo in Alb, you need to get ahead by 2-3 lvls on some of the tasks before you attempt them unless you can safely take on oj or reds (typically only necro, cab, and theurgs can do this at lower lvls) .

2. Do NOT supply your toon with task items from another toon unless you plan to mostly group. For solo a HUGE chunk of xp comes from kill tasks while farming items. Not only that but you get eggs.

3. At higher levels(35+) when you are having to grind more, there is a hidden gem here. That is RvR task items. Let's say you hit 35, and turn in your items. At 35 I believe it's like 6-7 bubbles? But what now? Hit the FZ task zone. Find a camp, preferably one with mob types you havent killed if you can. Farm them. Before the task ends turn some of them in. Let task finish, then turn in the rest. Rinse and repeat until you ding. Move around, find other camps. If you die to an enemy, no biggie. At least you dont have to worry about running to the supply master. Also, I tend to avoid hib because of the zerg. At that point I just suicide for my free xp and go back to somewhere else.

4. Save your eggs and RvR task items as much as you can. I almost never used them on my scout and when I hit 49 I turned everything in and nearly dinged 50 off the bat. I only use them to get a random bubble to ding me the next level on occasion. This really only should be done if your kill tasks are at lvl 2 or higher and you still want to level more.

5. DF is great but gets overcrowded and changes hands often which usually results in gank squads. Honestly, I typically avoid it unless it's a last resort. But that's personal preference. If you can find a good spot by all means grind it. It's great xp.

Edit: 6. Use buffpots if you want. I dont because I like to save cash. But if you got the money, by all means do so. Even better if you level alchemy or have one already in that realm.

I would write more but I'm on my phone and I need to get off. Later.

Good summary, i just disagree on two points:

2. At certain levels using XP-turnins gives you basically a full level. I went from 20 to 28 on my hunter in under 30minutes, simply by turning in XP items i had stacked from levelling my BD before. Even at later levels, there are levels where the XP-item-mobs are just bad spots, hard to kill for some classes or just a bad mobtype that doesn't give a huge bonus. Farming humanoids with zero XP bonus for taskitems can already be a waste compared to farming a mobtype with 300+%.

6. ALWAYS use the combined buffpot after lvl30 (min level for combined forces). Even before the last adjustments they were HUGE at lvl30. Now they are borderline OP. At lvl30 they give you more that a buffbot of the same level would supply. The difference is IMMENSE. (exceptions might be petclasses that don't benefit much from buffs on their char at all). A 100charge combined forces pot doesn't cost much. The gold investment will be made back tenfold by going through the levels faster and killing higher stuff earlier.

Edited my post for clarity. Thanks. Also i am for using buffpots if you can afford it. New players might have an issue though and likely wont be able to afford it (unless they wait. At lvl 30 I may have had 5-600g I think). It's not a "must" but it definitely makes it easier.
