I'd like to see live-like behavior, it would be a nice QoL enhancement for stealth players. The arguments against being able to see stealthed group members are based on the myth that it will encourage stealth zerging. Also the "I don't like it, so I want it to be a pain in the ass" attitude.
Let's hear some solutions to stealth zerging that don't have malicious intentions.
Absolutely unnecessary. It's already been discussed on Live regarding REMOVING the stealth detection visibility for group members. It's a crutch that would make it easier for bad players to coordinate and it was stupid to implement it on Live. It's not that hard to move together as it currently stands.
You've pointed out it's not 'necessary'. QoL enhancements are by definition not. No one is suggesting it is.
Where's the discussion for this on live so we can read what a game dev's thoughts on this are? I hear the "bad players" argument a lot on these forums and it's not constructive. Am I a "good player" if I have marco-polo-groundset chat macros that I have to click on repeatedly to enjoy a group with another stealther? The devs have done a good job so far on this server removing tedious tasks (for example, harps) and are taking more good steps against the charging chore. It's my belief this would be another good QoL enhancement.
So then you don't need it since it's not necessary.
Best of luck finding any comment from any developer for Live DAoC.
Nothing about 90% of the "conversations" here will be "constructive". Constructive to most is synonymous with agree'ing with them.
Huge difference between musical instrument swapping, and being able to visually locate 7 grouped stealthers for coordination.
This was a terrible change on Live and was unnecessary. Anything that gives a positive advantage to an archtype that capitalizes on advantages is ludicrous.
