I remember fighting Malvegil all the time in Yggdra. Gameb, Cyce, Remnants were a few of the other Albs I liked fighting. Probably my least favorite player to fight was Spira.

Haha, hell yeah man. I had just gotten off working third shift and decided to wind down with some RvR. Little did I know I was about to be gifted one of my greatest memories in gaming. That was awesome! How are things, man? Any of those names around these days?

I played on Gawaine a little bit.

My main characters there that people might remember are Meddyck (R11 cleric), Alysson (R11 minstrel), and Garfield (R6 scout). I was GM of the guild Unity. In later years I was also GM of the guild Solar Invictus on Merlin/Killibury/Ywain with main characters Meddyck (R11 druid) and Alyssen (R9 eldritch).

Right now I'm very casually playing on Alb on Phoenix. My highest char is a 17 fire wizard. Even with the custom changes here the PvE grind is pretty damn boring. It's doubtful I'll level past Caledonia, but you never know. Still it's been moderately fun reliving old hunting grounds and there's nothing much else out there I feel motivated to play on the MMO scene while I endlessly wait for Camelot Unchained to get done.

I played the original Bart , Mambo and Bagladie on Mid Gawaine. Had a kick ass time leading tons of dragon raids but sold my account towards the end. Shortly after the classic server launched I think. We had a pretty good crew back in the day. Fun guilds like Nordic Thunder , Dark Defiance and a little stint in Piracy. Wish I still had pictures of my zone wall break and running around in Camelot Hills as a warrior before they fixed the zone walls lol.

Original Lurokian Hib Gawaine - guilds : The Dark Oct and Raven guard and spent a little bit in Blackthornes. Sold my character the day TOA came out and returned to live daoc to play a variety of toons back in 2011 been playing dark age on and off ever since. Free shards are fun and everything but aint nothing like the real thing baby. I never take these things too serious. Have low RR toons on all 3 realms here.

Funny gawaine story from Vn boards I was talking mega shit one day on VN boards to an infiltrator with an over inflated ego and the trolling went to keyboard warrior levels. I posted my RL address on the boards and about a month or so later I received a letter in the mail from Alb wizard Retaliation! It said youre a dumb ass or something like that. Was funny as hell.

I'd love to... trust me. More then anything - I'd love to have a shadowblade and a dark spiritmaster so I can run around once more in Old Frontiers; sadly - my time is limited. I travel so much and hardly have computer access due to that and when I do I cannot log on certain sites because of the restrictions.

How longs it take to get to 50 these days? I remember it took months at the start of DAoC lol.

Who else is around that I once knew?

I still talk to a few of the old people. I know my pals been on my account on live servers retemplating my chars and playing as a Zergling, but that's about it

Takes about 2-3 days of heavy play to hit 50. If you follow the collection task items for half your level in exp each time, it's really smooth sailing. Also taking advantage of rvr tasks every 30 minutes once you hit 35: suicide at AMG, afk for 30 minutes while you catch up on work / do laundry / cook etc. Very practical strategy for the working individual.

Old Alb/Gawaine player here - I was a young teen when I was Lentil Soup the Paladin, who barely got 50 and died more times than I could count. I'm on Mid now, I play a hunter. Still can't give up that gimp class lifestyle.

Shoutout to Groundskeeperr and the old ToA crew if they're around, somewhere in the world. Super nice folks even though I was a huge brat back then!

OMG ITS LEXI!!!..... how the eff have you been? Your right maybe it was more then just a little stint in Piracy lol. Man we had some fun ass times back in the day. Now we are all old and moved on to other stuff. I get on here from time to time. Daoc ruined other games for me so I don't game much. Plus like Lexi I work way to much. Gotta chase that dollar tho.

I have toons on all 3 realms here only 1 50 and far from temped but I would play and temp a toon on any realm for your triumphant return if you would just lead a few massive keep raids ... seeing as there is no towers here. Some of those tower raids and defenses you led back in the day when I had my SM specced PBAE were the funnest times I had in the game. Lets face it who wouldn'g get giddy seeing a deathspam of 15+ people within a minute with your name behind them lol.

Oh snap, a few of us from Cha Faile are hitting up Phoenix as well. I’m Raleena -SB. My wife Sorariana - Shammy. Our friends Systematical and Criticus (SBs) are running on alb/mid here multiple 50s. Miss the old Gawaine days running around with Lexi and the crew. Is Boridi/Boriduex still alive lol?

Dizzam. I miss CF... some of our best friends in the game and Systi/Criti were in Piracy for ages when ya all left.

I'd love to make a Shadowblade - but time is just so bad for me. Currently I'm sitting in Cincinnati Airport (CVG in Kentucky) and then I'm off To DC then gotta go overseas for a few days... if I log on, it's on a laptop and just not able to dedicate it to the old days... but I do miss the old days.

I tried Rift / GW 2 / ESO / FF Online but none seem to have the fun DAoC was.

I logged on my account which is active on DAoC live and nothing is how I remember... I ran around for a good 40 minutes and didn't find anyone to fight. The game needs Old Frontiers again to survive imo.

But to be a Shadowblade again... oh it'd be fun memories.. especially in Old Frontiers.

If I went Alb... I'd make a Fire Wizard... the only char I never got to play in live daoc… I have a wizzy on Gaheris.. but never the live servers

Oh I miss Piracy - sadly many have passed away. I do still see Adog (Scott) whenever I go to Florida to visit my sister whom I believe he's banging periodically.

Just let us know if you decide to give it a romp. It's much easier to level than old school daoc, templating is a dream. We're primarily on ALB now, guild name is Absolute Vengeance, Mid is Shades of Loki. Kari and I work full time these days but we still irked out a few 50s and get to rvr so it's worth it, even if you stay a little busy.

Right now I'm very casually playing on Alb on Phoenix. My highest char is a 17 fire wizard. Even with the custom changes here the PvE grind is pretty damn boring. It's doubtful I'll level past Caledonia, but you never know. Still it's been moderately fun reliving old hunting grounds and there's nothing much else out there I feel motivated to play on the MMO scene while I endlessly wait for Camelot Unchained to get done.

I think everyone from that era remembers Meddyck, Sabien, Rackir, VanishCity.. I know they weren’t all same realm, but top tier in their respective classes.

I ran with Shadows of Death for the most part - all stealthier guild which was basically 4 RL friends;
Shaddowstalker - inf
Stringem - minst
Toxicshadow - inf
Niight - scout

Solisan here. I was never very good but I loved the game and the Gawaine community. Rolled with Valdari (Bob, Danthor, Nerfherder, Reflex, +others) and Piracy with Lexi.

I played Alb Gawaine until Classic servers came out. I was Fardorg (Necro), Grodraf (Inf) and many others. I was in Northwind Highlanders the entire time I was on Gawine. I remember VNCing into my system at home, while working night shift, to be able to summon wood and upgrade keep doors to get our keep to level 10. I miss OF and the times of old.

Snaw, played the first 3 years from launch on Mid (Thane), recognise a few of the md names on here from back then. Still playing mid on phoenix, sympathy/killininthenameof/concretejungle. Just rejoined 2 months ago after a 20 year hiatus, addicted all over again

I had over the years often thought fondly of DAoC and can't think of a game that came close to the ingenuity of DAoC.

Seeing this thread and the names within has helped to bring back more fond memories and it's nice to see.

After spending a lot of time in Albion in the days of yore I think it's time to give Midgard a go (and because Hibbies stink!)

I don't have the time like I used to but it'll be nice to get back into RvR. Look forward to seeing some oldies!
