Many games have them..would be good for server health. Could be xp bonus options after a week of consecutive logins or whatever the admin deem fit. I'm thinking mostly bonuses to pve content, feathers maybe idk.

What do you guys think?

no, please not. I stopped playing those games. if you are pushed to do something you would not do, its completly the wrong direction. Its a game, it fills a niche in my life. if it pushes to be more than it has use to, its bad for me. why do you want to do bad things to me? did i insult you? did i do harm to you?

no? good, then stop doing harm to me.

Instead of a login bonus, how about a "birthday present"? Once a year, a player character (at the date of character creation) receives a present that makes the player happy but obviously also isn't too overpowered. I think it's a nice idea.

Sure, people could fill all character slots just to get those free bonus items once a year, but you would have to be quite a patient "birthday present farmer" if you want to make a profit.

Oh but then it's unfair to those not being able to log. So maybe we should all have our RP grow with time whether we play or not shouldnt we ?

How about an xp/RP bonus for not logging in? Many MMOs give you a bonus if you're not logged in 24/7 and it's a good catch-up mechanic for the casuals so that they're not so far behind the try-hards who are always on

This basically already exists with tasks.

What about rested XP and maybe RP?

Better to help the casual players stay relevant vs noncasual.

the tasksystem basically is some kind of system that rewards people that play only an hour or two a day more for the early efforts, than someone playing 5+hours everyday

if you have a char logged in DF, in theory, you can log in every day, kill 30mobs (15humanoids / 15demons) and get 5 (FIVE!) task-completions.
That's a task-completion every 6mobs on average.
But you can only do that once per day. Having twice the playtime won't give you twice the XP.

Same with RvR-tasks. Racking up kills/solo-kills for the first tasksteps is quite easy and goes quite fast. Later stages require many more.

I see the current system as a mixture of daily-quests/login and a rested-XP system.
