Pheonix wont launch at all. - Phoenix Freeshard

been playing for a couple of days no problem. since the last patch, i downloaded the the new patch. now an error comes up saying
"mishandled" or something like that. "continue will ignore this error and try to launch. Quit will end application."
then the Pheonix Launcher comes up without password. i enter the password and click play. the launcher closes and that's it. try the launcher again and it flashes the loading circle and that's it.

i've reinstalled, dl all patches.

any ideas?

Sounds like a .NET error.

I’ve tried that but won’t let me download them since I have “more recent versions”

Similar problem here. I logged in the last time about a week ago successfully. Since about 2 days ago I just see the update bar "Checking Files". It disappears and nothing happens / no error / no daoc start screen. Have Win 10 up to date. Everything worked since about a week ago. Tried to disable Windows defender Firewall - no difference.

Try downloading and installing the 32 bit version of the .Net framework. The 64-bit version didn't work for me for DAOC.

I have the same issue as well. The launcher starts checking files for a second then just disappears.

solved by running Camelot.exe to get a 331mb update

Ugh. Found myself with this same issue on a DIFFERENT older laptop than I was having the other issue with. Was the update to 1.24d really all that worth it. All other private servers and live work just fine on this laptop. There's got to be more people with this problem that just haven't bothered trying to seek support.

Tried a bunch of stuff to fix my .net framework. Was it even broken? Anyway. Logged into my administrator account and windows 10 automatically did some more updates. Phoenix now working on my administrator account. Figured I'd post incase it helps any of you. I did see another post of someone that created a new user account and it worked for a bit.

I read a bit in the forum and can finally play again. Only the classic icons are gone, but will fix this :p

First I tried to add this line to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
88.99.68.136 patcher.playphoenix.online
and restarted. It sill didn't work

After this I ran camelot.exe and let patch which downloaded about 332mb. Clicked exit.

I commented the prior added line in hosts file as I thought the culprit was probably the missing patch and restarted Windows.

Still worked, DAoC starting screen but stuck - hit esc for exit.

Tried different pages (1 didn't work) and finally 6 indeed worked. So there are no characters - logged out and switched back to page 0. And wow - character screen appears - all my toons are here and look unspoilt! :-)
