So, this is my opinion. Some may differ some agree...let's put the pros and con's out there and discuss.
IMO
So with OF, I think the keeps are garbage to attempt a defense. Secondly, unless I join a bg to take keeps back, I never even know if someone is attacking a keep or not....only really find out with this new music thing that shows who took it. Even when in group to take them back, rarely anyone to defend? Once in a while a FG might hang for a bit then sos off etc...How can you get to a keep that is being attacked in time to defend it? You can't....So the choice is to stay in a keep you have taken and hope a bg or a couple groups come to attempt a take....your gambling with your time in RVR and typically it doesn't pay off. Better to go roam etc.
With NF you can see when someone is on a keep/tower etc when it's lit up on the /RW map. And....maybe not always with towers but typically you could get to a keep and attempt a defense because you could port to a keep that was close, or...if the realm attacking didn't cut the port to the keep they were on, you could port directly.
Instant action. So many more things I could speak of but will leave that to others.
I understand some like the novelty of OF, but with Uth 1 and Uth 2 hasn't the novelty of that worn off yet?
There has been 4 creations of semi-classic daoc's that I can think of, all but one have essentially failed...one bird remains.
None of those have had NF content. We know there were other issues as well, but not adapting, will certainly mean this path will take the same path as others.
So...who else can give me a comparison or pro/con of OF vs NF
Let's discuss.
