Making the lfg channel clean and readable

For now I've seen people spamming the chan. Thus, other people need to spam it as well otherwise their own message gets lost. A simple way to make the chan cleaner would be to have a 5 minutes cooldown each time someone talks in this chat. Nobody needs to use it more often. If you forget something in your ad, ask someone of your party to do it.

We have advice for talking...I am tired of using ignore on people who want to spam crap in it over and over

I'm all for this. Although I think 5 minutes is a bit long. Maybe 2-3.

I'd say this is a reasonable request. I'll look into it...

If you think, someone is abusing /lfg or any other channel, try to reach a staff member ig or in discord. If you cant reach anyone, make a screen and send it to me on discord.

The point is : I think it's not about people abusing the chan, it is about the way this channel is designed. If you want to be read, you will somehow have to spam it.

I get your point but if no one spams, it should be quite easier to read. I personally dont like the idea of restricting it. even though there were some people already muted for misusing it, i really like how people behave in general in lfg. My impression is that 90% of them is acting totaly ok.

Maybe it would be an option to see only lfg-msgs from people around your level (+/-10 levels) like Uthgard had it for some time. When this server goes live and there will be hopefully more people than now, it might be an idea.

But like Windhand said, we are discussing this internally and let you know when coming to a result.

Personally not fond of the level restriction as I have on several occasions found a group for my other character while lvling an alt (you will see alot like 12 Sb or 35 supp runie lfg in the chat).

PLZ no lfg / chat restrictions.
We dont need the uthgard spirit here.
I want my daily soap of drama. Its a important part and no one need to tell me what and when I am allowed to use the lfg.

how about if you type /lfg
its like now a message appears and you get in a list, a new window opens where you can see all lfgs.
maybe something like this?

and you stay in the list until you get a grp or log out

Staff has already stated /advice is for general chat and /lfg was for looking for group only.

I hope staff does crack down. Using the /lfg by accident is one thing, posting over and over telling others there is nothing they can do about it? That should be a ban from that chat channel and continued verbal assault should be bans from the game.

People are here to have fun and deliberately breaking the rules ruins the fun for others not just you.

Plz staff, a 2-3 min timer would be a nice feature to keep it under control. It is generally fine until you get that one person who wants to just keep chatting in lfg just to be difficult.

Why not create a General/RVR channel?

Imo keep LFG for making groups and Advice channel should be only people looking for advice about the game.

+ RvR channel to coordinate BG, General talk etc

timer is ok, but not a ban..
we all know where this did end, *uth*

you need to think about the casual player, he comes from work wants to level a bit
he dont know all the rules and restrictions, was allowed to write in lft, what in advice, what in other.

and if you ban him now, this is to strange for him.

Not knowing the rules is no excuse. Do you know how often I hear people in Jail telling me that they didnt read the rule and didnt know that dual loging is not allowed? Everyone who created an account here had to accept the rules. if you are too lazy to read the rules, then it is your fault, if you get punished for that. You cant go out and rob someone. After getting caught by the police, it will not help you when saying "I didnt know that robbing is not allowed".

No one will get a ban or will be muted if he/she uses any channel by accident. But spaming, insulting and things like that will always be punishable, no matter if we have a timer on LFG or not.

The reason why we made the adivce channel to the general channel is quite simple. We could have created a new RVR channel, but it wouldnt show in the options menu and you would not be able to change color or mute this channel. This only works for the existing channels (it is a clientside issue).
