Buying feathers from people for plats barely possible, no one has feathers. Not sure if there are frequent TG raids on EU time, but none on NA time.

Server is saturated, almost no TG raids during NA time - let us by items for Plats or BP from NPCs

EU time still has raids every weekday, and afaik also on the weekends
If feathers really are already becoming a shortage (which i doubt, more like people hoarding them) then more raids should pop up again...
Making the items purchasable with plats/BP not only kind of removes the reason to have feathers at all...it also would create a precedent of direct pricelinking between feathers and gold which would mess with the economies of the different realms.
Where would you set prices? Would you go with midgardprices of 5k feathers <=> 1plat...or would you go with hibernia where it is closer to 2plats?
Last but not least, they have announced a new instanced dungeon for single groups where you will get around 8k feathers in an hour (if your group goes through decently) +drops / Loot, so another featherfarm that can be done without a raid and is comparable to the raids too

I saw this coming weeks ago, and have never bought any items with my feathers (sitting on 80k). If I need anything I just trade plat. Feathers will become more scarce as times goes on, so I would start hoarding ASAP.
Farming 5plat is infinitely easier than 20k feathers.

Feathers will be easier to acquire with the instance PvE content incoming as the group size to do it will not be as large and easier to coordinate one at almost anytime- especially if feathers are in high demand.

I sit on 100k feathers and the reason I kept them all this time is because their value dropped so rapidly during the first two months. Maybe people should come to terms with how a free market economy works and offer 10P for 20k feathers instead of 5P, what some people feel entitled to.

Running these 8-man raids will stabilize the market for items bought with Feathers (as long as the Raids can be reasonably cleared.)
Honestly I've never needed more than 40k Feathers on each of my 3 50s to build a template. The people who want to spend 100k+ on Feather Items will still run the Major Raids.
The problem with Raids is all of the under performing and AFK players. My suggestion would be to double the Feather gain on certain days, or create a (RvR or PvE) triggering event that increases Feathers by 100%.

I've noticed that the EU raids have been encroaching on east coast NA time. Saw an EU raid start at 330pm EST the other day, which means the raid starts getting cleared at 345pm. Which pushed the respawn to 945pm EST, which is late for the east coast to start a 90+ minute raid for most.

It is unfortunate. Cercei's raid on Mid is always the same time, and is about the only time I can't go... so I'm pretty much screwed.

Yap. I did at the beginning daily TG raids for my part (anticipating that a time will come where there will be lesser raids) but now, i can maybe join in the best case 1 raid every 2 weeks or so, because when i log in (around 9AM) there's generally a raid which finished like 3-4h ago. =(
We did try to make some several times, but we failed due to number (60-80 peeps aren't generally enough it seems), so they generally end with wipe/cancel/switching to DR/Legion raids. For me it ends spending countless hours in DF joining shredders/hulks/HLs runs.

The new Grp instance raid will come up next - so you can farm feathers with a good 8 man setup. It solves the issues where you need a zerg to farm feathers effectiv..

buying items with plats is a great idea...too many players that do nothing but do raids and sell feathers for astronomical prices. seen prices going up by 3p per 20k in just 2 days, its frustrating, i play for fun i dont grind 24/7 like some people do.

why have feathers at all then though?
and why do you think items sold for plat by NPCs would require a smaller farm?
I highly doubt devs will implement it, but if they do i am sure they would make it very expensive to get the items via gold
Items come from endgame content, not from AOE-dotting greens and blues and salvaging/trinketing.
If the feather prices are going up, then the plat-farming is easier than featherfarming at the current conversion rate.
Higher feather prices => more people want to do raids => more raids => lower feather prices

hmm. i can't think of even one expensive item in this economy yet. all usual items are not expensive here. normally items only dropped by epic encounters have high demand and very low supply. here you can buy those after two raids or with a few plats.Sepplord wrote: economy is a wonderful thing
I really can't think of any reason why a lot of gold buys you anything here. not even powerleveling, as it's not feasible. :p
you want some plats and feathers as a buffer and that's it.

and there doesn't need to be very expensive items (although nosdoden bracers have been traded around 7plat in the beginning and i have sold an 80+ SB-Ring for 7or8plat too), a constant demand for a lot of cheap items also adds up
I personally have all the gold and feathers i will need in the next few months but i know that others do not have the same cushion and are just struggling for money all the time (no idea how...but in every game i have played there are people that are constantly broke)

Pay 500g to 1p more than rock bottom price and you can find someone fairly easily.
Besides, with the new 8man PvE instance feathers will be flowing everywhere soon.
