The most recent task change was much needed. Now instead of the action being 100% in the task zone and 100% dead everywhere else, it's basically 90% in the task zone and 10%..... something in the other two zones. It was a good effort towards fixing the abortion that is the current zerg meta to chase the task. In my opinion there is a potential fix for this.
Get rid of the task zone altogether. Replace it with an RP bonus that is similar to the way bonus xp works. For example, in mid, undead get kill constantly whereas trees and dragons do not. As a result, undead are worth no xp bonus yet trees are worth over 250% and dragons even more. Instead of the task zone, implement a system that looks at which zones a player has been in (or not) and rewards their RP gain with a bonus accordingly. IE, if you've spent all your time in emain, then you get a 0% RP bonus where as if you went to alb or mid perhaps you would get a 20% or even more RP bonus.
Something needs to be done to normalize the action across the realms. At the moment the game remains a feast or famine situation in terms of where the action is (or is not). It was manageable for a while but now it's simply become a bit asinine. Unless you're running a 1337 8man (oh surprise) or part of a massive zerg, the game is about as interesting as watching grass grow at the moment.
