WHY is there a discrepancy in stealth?

Why do Assassins get 250 range? I’m sure they will be perfectly fine with the same range as archers. It won’t change the Assassin vs Assassin fights and will have no benifit for archers.

So why is there favoritism for Assassin classes?

Originally Detect Hidden (the skill assassins get from speccing 16 Stealth) was added because assassins had no serious range-attacks and as such where given a niche of being able to detect other stealthers better.

Personally I think assassins need better detection, but it is a thin line of balance. Archers should be able to avoid perfs - but shouldn't be able to open up with archery on a stealthed assassin. However, you then end up with something like giving Archers 250 detection-range and Assassins something like 300+ on enemy Archers. I don't know if that would be anything better than the current situation...

I think one of the more frustrating parts of detect hidden is there are times when you actually know the assassin is coming for you, you unstealth and start running and then wham you get backstabbed from 10 feet away even though you had a headstart getting away. They see you from a good range, they can hit you from a good range, they have perfect temps, full charges/buffs. I really don't think an assassin having the same detection vs archers as they do vs assassins is going to break the server.

All the luris rise up ))... Am i the only one here that doesnt care about the current range? I am able to avoid 99% of the PAs/BSs on me when i know they are coming for me, and, most of the time i get a hit off first. How are you guys playing, do you just stand still and wait for it, do you not try to hit first?

I dunno, I agree with OP. Stealth detect range of 250 is too large. Normalize all assassins and archers to have the same detect range of 150 or so. Assassins are still gonna win every fight. At least it would give archers some basic survivability. Right now it is safer to run unstealthed at realm speed than to move stealthed...that is sad.

A perf is not needed to wipe out this squishy Luri...venom spam, evade spam, and higher growth rate styles from my assassin opponents are all that is needed. If by chance I get that very rare lucky streak and put up a good fight, they just vanish anyway.
