if it's Raad from hib percival way back in the day, he was our most famous sniper spec'd keen for years. Just for dedication to his class and being higher rr than most. Nothing about him that made him "good" especially since he thought going max bow was a good idea

Idk about now, but it was not a good idea back in those days. 35+15 was far superior and held your own Vs melees. If you're trying to be competitive, anyway. Sniper spec is the class fantasy obviously for most people and does the job for pew pew.

High bow/PF is fun. You'll quickly realize your fun is over the second any other stealther finds you. But once you understand that and /sit as soon as you're found you can have a great time.

I recently respecced from 44(+15) bow and 46 PF to 36(+15) bow and 42 PF (yellow dmg add instead of red) and I have not noticed much if any difference in my bow dmg output. Your results may vary...

That being said, even with the upped melee skills, still no chance if a stealther finds me(which happens often given their illogical stealth detect bonus)...they just have a little less health left over when I die.

I've reached out to Raad, but I don't think he's coming. I am going to point him to this thread, however, in an attempt to play to his ego!

Neither of us were ever sniper specced, by the way. Most bow we ever had was 35.

He definitely ran sniper spec at one point. My memory is serving me correct. Maybe he swapped when rangers started wising up and saw the light of 35 bow.

You were closer to him so I will take your word for it, but I definitely remember at one point he was full bow, and I am fairly certain he was already rr10 at that point. My memory must be failing me /shrug

Counterpoint: If you die to an equally matched Ranger 1 on 1 you are not playing your character to its potential, you are asleep, or you are in the BGs.

Old thread, but Raad's spec was

48PF
34Recurve
34Pierce
30Stealth
20CD

Until they added RF... Then he bumped Recurve to 35 and CD down to 19.

He, Emeryc and I all ran this spec.

I later got a bot and modified it to

46PF
35Recurve
34Pierce
30stealth
23CD

I chose this spec as a resultof testing I did WAAAAYY back then, which can still be viewed for posterity at:
