item bought by mistake at Market Explorer

I have inadvertently bought Malefic Tooth for 2 platinum, 400 Gold. I was just buying elixir and I only realized something went wrong when I checked my money pot. I had to read combat window to see what happened.

This is a real problem: I saved money since from the beginning without spending ANYTHING, I did not want AT ALL to complete that transaction. I managed to APPEAL but they relpied that we use market at our own risk.

Does anybody know any bug related to this? I suspect I have been a victim of a fraud and I am really disappointed it is not possible to support a player on an issue like this.
Now I am with just one Platinum and I still have to build my armor. I am seriosuly thinking to quit the game for this issue. Pleas help.

Unfortunately a free private server is going to have its share of bugs. Whether this was a bug or just a user not paying attention(which is more likely) the devs tend to have a "play at your own risk" stance when it comes to reimbursement. Even if it is a bug. Unless you can prove it and replicate the bug they wont do anything about it. Tough luck man, sorry.

FWIW it's very easy to make money here. With salvaging I can make 250-400g an hour by simply farming.

Open your eyes. Especially while buying pots brain-afk, from time to time ppl have set plats instead of gold at same amount.

Same goes for the vendors...I would not call it fraud or scam in any case. When you apply more than 100 pots each day to the Merchant, it happens quickly that you hit the wrong lane and put 40plat instead of 40gold. Also happened to me twice - fortunately I did not sell

Gil, that is not the solution. We do not need to pay ppl to stay here.
He wanted to point out one particular thing. In fact he was not paying attention whilst using a service. After the 'shock' he tried to revoke his decision by appealing which got denied. After the 'final' verdict he decided on asking in forums for a bug related while knowing perfectly that his situation derives from a mistake he made.
Fiddling a 'I will quit the game' to the end of a post/discussion is socially known as begging for help with a bit more pressure.
He knows perfectly that he would need time to cover his loss, mabe 1-2 weeks assuming his given playtime. But he is not willing to do so. He is more like the guy, I made a mistake and if others don't help it I will leave.
Honestly, if he'd stated in the end something like 'could someone group me and help me gaining back a bit of money' I would have given him 5pp. - Just for his attitude on solving his problem and to care for carry on!
But that 'I am seriously thinking to quit the game for this issue' proved me that he is not worth being carried by community.

Well it sounded to me like he was poor and desperate for help. I'm rich and willing to help (I don't live in America, where it's somehow believed that the poor are poor cause they deserve to be and therefore shouldn't be helpped).

They could make PLAT a different color. Like they did with random rolls. Once your currency goes into the plats it changes color?

Annoying as it is , and gut wrenching when you buy something you shouldn't , I wish life's disappointments were as mundane as this one.

There a more things to make a rage quit than this surely ??

How would you react if, going on Amazon to rent a movie, you find out 2500 Dollars less in your bank account as you apparently bought a box of yellow buttons from North Korea?
Would you be happy if calling the Customer Service someone will respond to you that: "Customers use the web market at their own risk" ?
Why do you think in the EU there is the right to change idea on a product and give it back?
Even more, in this case, do you think it is ok that I had NO intention to buy that item, even less to pay that amount, and that I only realized afterwards?

To me this is would be a fraud to the customer.

It was the second time in my life I was going on the market, as you know you cannot go RvR without a Shaman in a group if you do not use End potions. I was not aware of that risk AT ALL. I was not asked to put anything on the plate, I was not asked to confirm anything. I was not at a player house but with the Market Explorer. I only bought the elisir barrel. ONLY THAT. I am sure.

And by the way I was not "Fiddling" anything, I am just disappointed from the poor level of the game and of the customer support.: what I learnt in my life so far is that if you are not happy with a product or a customer, the most appropriate response is stop buying or using it. That is all.

And I can tell: I am genuinely and truly demotivated.

Also, I can tell: the gesture from Marc made me reconsider my intention , which obviously would have been not the case when I read your post, so poor, superficial and allusive.

Last thing: it's spring, I have two boys and a busy work, should I really explain further why I quit the game after the outcome of that appeal???

The house number, and thus the owner of the house, are things you can see in this game when you go to buy something off the market explorer.

If someone listed 2 task items for 2.6 plat, what makes you think they’ll give the money back? They listed them at that price on purpose to either trick someone into buying them or to find someone incredibly desperate

thank you for your kind response. First of all I want to make clear that I am playing a MMO in order not to deal with EU's economy laws - at least for few minutes a day.
Secondly, you can not or you don't want to go RvR without endu pots/shaman in group? See the difference in statements... but anyhow, I know where you are coming from and agree with you - disregarding your wording.
Furthermore you came to the forums and told us your story. Fair enough. I like people sharing their experience with us. And here comes the 'but':
Your initial post can be reduced to the last two sentences. Because this was/is what you actually wanted to say (there is actually good literature on that...)

This was the key message of the whole post.
Translated: "Community &/or staff, help me or I will quit" - If there is anybody on this forum that reads this quote differently, let me know and I'll shut up.

You drew a very smart conclusion from what you have learnt from life so far. Now you should take action accordingly.

Last thing: no need to explain anything - I got three girls and two boys, a busy work and I am single dad.

To be fair though, it is more like finding 10dollars less in your bank. 2Plat is average farm for an hour. Specialized farmclasses/groups rake in much more.
I can see why it still is frustrating, but i can also see where Durgrim is coming from. I guess the truth lies somewhere in the middle.

Neither is there a way to buy "malefic tooths" when you clicked on "elixir of invigoration" on Amazon nor is $2500 worth even remotely the same time investment as the 2.5p.

It's not like you just got a different shipping, I'm sure the server can absolutely confirm your buy. It's not fraud, it's you clicking the wrong stuff and not double checking.

That is why you - always - doublecheck whether you clicked on the right item and whether that item has the wanted amount of charges/stats.

Yes it's bad when you buy something you didn't want to and then that something is also completely overpriced.

But seriously you can see the names, you can see the prices and you can asked to pay another 20% market fee on top (granted one should include the total price here as this message doesn't provide any more security).

If this wasn't a bug - which would be somewhat hard do reproduce as you seem to be the first one on the forum mentioning it within 2 months of constant usage of the market explorer - then it simply was human error.

The majority of players is old DAoC players, I would guess, so those are at least close to 30 if not way beyond that. We got lifes with children aswell that doesn't change a thing about the time investment though, 2.5p is pocket change for a 50 in DAoC. I've 3 children aswell and I've deleted more plats than that without even a second thought because this server makes it so easy. Seriously, in other games I would've told you "if you have no time, then don't play it", but here? Just afk-stick the next TG raid and you get your 2p worth of feathers within 50-60 minutes - of doing nothing. (In case 5k is still worth 1p, haven't checked the prices for two weeks as I literally have no time to play as of now)

Sure it's still a loss and it's annoying, but unless you can provide evidence I'm guessing you simply messed up and came here to voice your concern. You should be angry about yourself, not about the server or it's supposedly bad "customer service".

You made a mistake, there is no 30 days money back guarantee, done. I've never seen any game in over two decades of gaming that provided such a service anyways.
