You have the PvE Bosses like Green Knight, Evern etc. those remain unchanged.
You have the new PvE Bosses that are only around in the task realm while the task is up (and will despawn regardless of engagement state when it completes) that were increased from 1500 to 5000 feathers per person (both numbers assuming 50 people, would be more with fewer people, less with more).
You have the keeps that will give a feather bonus equal to the RP Pool share which now was increased from a daily maxmium of 500 to a daily maximum of 1000. Note that there will be a rp pool of 0 if nobody dies around a keep and hence 0 feathers from this mechanic. The lord itself also gives some feathers based on keep level, this has also not been changed.

Thank you for pointing out a couple.
I was however wondering, where my 30ish Savage got its 891 feathers from - I participated in tasks for about 45min, since I was missing only 1-2 Bubs for the next level and took part in 2-3 kills on my way to the combat zone. I did not check the loot messages and wondered in the end, where those feathers came from.
Is there feather gain per step of the invasion?
Is there increased feather gain for killing people?
I was not close to any keep (beside portal keep ofc
)

You did not take part in any keep takes or epic encounter with that character, the only other means for feathers would be DF high level mobs. I'd assume you probably grabbed them from your account vault?
