Just play, enjoy the game while it lasts...

Now on topic...

People moan about certain classes but seem to forget about the player behind it.

I have always said that if you get the right player with the right class... any character can be made to look powerful.

See you get 10 players playing 1 specific class and everyone one of them will play differently.

All im saying is that because a handful of players (speculating of course) are making certain classes look over powered, but dont penalise the class because of those skilled players.

I hope that makes sense

So, stop whining, enjoy the game how ever you want. If you die... so what, it happens, go again... its not like the rvr is slow now is it.

If you die to these so called over powered classes... find a way to beat it (see it as a challenge)

But you can be a bad player, roll Assassin here, and own.

This is definitely true. 90% of daoc videos I have seen uploaded on youtube don't utilize their kit and click their goddamn abilities on their hotbar. These are people trying to showcase how good they are... lol. Not to mention a large amount of people that play this game are pve first, pvp second. This game is heavily populated by 30-60 year old dudes, not esports pro 19 year olds, so there are lots of people who aren't great at pvp.

I’m determined to get better, but my reflexes are terrible.

I also have severe altitis so I am constantly switching toons and relearning stuff for that class. I should put the hammer down on getting my Warrior to RR5 but I am really liking my cave/aug shammi.

Unrelated, our usernames are very close.

So old people can't play the game, you don't need to have great twitch reflexes in this game, its more about decisions made so the 19 year old esports player would pretty much get owned like anyone else. You have to know all the strengths and weaknesses of whom you are fighting and be able to operate in a group setting. Esports exist in small squad play or BR play not zerg play, or multiple groups running together, the tactics are completely different.

No offence to the young or old .....we are all gamers!

"But you can be a bad player, roll Assassin here, and own."

Just 100% not true. There are a hand full of really good assassins and you can tell the difference day and night when fighting them. Its literally the bad ones you can easily 2v1 the good ones your in for a tough fight every time. Just because they can perf a caster and kill them don't mean there owning in regards to there class. They would be farmed by other assassins any shield class some melee archers and good casters who don't run in a straight line and no shields up.

Aaaaaand thread is already derailed!

First of all, I find it amusing that the OP is complaining himself about moaning posts: if whining posts should stop altogether, this very post should have not been posted in the first place.

Second: "stop whining" posts have never been useful or conclusive, most of the time those who make such posts are not even objectively asking for the whining to stop, they are simply wishing people would stop complaining about their specific class or archetype, to avoid nerfs (either deserved or undeserved).

Also, if people would not complain about certain classes, there would be no way for the devs to address imbalances: the so called whining serves a purpose, especially when it's based on data/facts; posts like this, on the other hand, add nothing to the debate because they have no real content (which is proved by the fact that they get derailed right away and so easily into the usual "class X is OP or not" discussions).

Sorry to bash your post OP, but if you feel your class or archetype is balanced despite what most people say, despite all the whining going around, just write a reasonable post about it, about counter-measures/play, about skillful play, specs, useful tips, give suggestions to people to improve their play style: start a discussion with some content instead of whining yourself about other people whining.

We all know he will never do it, will keep playing a solo wizard, will keep running in straight lines around Mile gates without shields up and will continue to wonder why he gets farmed by assassins.

Most peeps aren't prepared to win. I run over 500g in charges and pots per hour to be a good assassin, do you? Is all your equipment MP and you are fully templated? Is your rr higher than the peeps you are losing to? Most people would lose to me no matter what class I played, just due to my preparedness that most peeps lack. It's not your class, its you!

It's not even that bad. combined forces, end, sharkskin, haste-pot +3 redcharges (Str/con,dex/qui and SpecAF) only amount up to 240g/hr (theoretical number)....so unless you die every 3-4minutes you can come by much cheaper and still be competitive. (+a few gold for instant-healing potions 1charge per fight)

PS: as i am always intrested in making myself stronger: did you just approximate that 500g/hr number. am i missing a substantial potion that i need to add to my repertoire? Or is the actual usage much higher than theorethically even when not dieing every few minutes?

I mostly agree with the OP. I think it's that way in many/most games.
