I'm seeing threads with people frustrated with the current state of rvr, and if that is you I suggest you give the battlegrounds a shot before you write off the server entirely. It is possible to solo and small man in the bgs, something that is difficult at 50. You get to enjoy a different aspect of the game and at much less time/money invested to do so. Pots/templates/gear is very much simplified and it becomes more pick up and play. A few friends and I run fairly regularly on mid thid and I see familiar faces on hib and alb so theres a decent population and I'd like to see it increase. If this is you and you play mid hit me up here or ingame on vbt and well make it happen.

Mainly you are seeing the elitists frustrated that they can't dominate RvR with their 8man groups talking about giving up, while in game RvR is thriving.
I see solo's everywhere, small mans e verywhere, 8mans everywhere, and zergs running around all in the same span of the few hours I happen to jump on.
People who say there is no solo game are mad because they want to take a solo Thane or VW or Friar or whatever normally good solo character but no speed, then get mad when they get rolled by the zerg or a group with speed. They whine that these groups won't leave woloers alone to fight 1 on 1.

People have preached for years that red is dead and grey's who want to enter the frontiers take the risk of being ganked because red is dead and frontiers are dangerous. Guess what? Same applies to soloers and small man. You want to run around the frontiers, you get rolled because red is dead. I love how people want it their way, not both ways. They want to kill grey's and want RP's for them or titles, but then whine when they get rolled by a full group or zerg who mows them down.

Call me old fashioned...but solo'ers just want to have fun...just like everybody else. I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility to have a server that supports all play styles...as much as some forum warriors find that idea impossible to contemplate.
And yes...bgs here are pretty fun...FWIW I liked the RR3 cap to Cale. I'd love a 35-39 BG...

Agreed, Battlegrounds have been a lot of fun for me so far. I can wait for endgame RvR to get adjusted while having fun in the Battlegrounds and PvE leveling/farming.

He ONLY mentions the BG's as an alternative and they are NOT the focus...reading is a good thing...
I replied to him saying soloers just want to have fun to which I replied I understand but also soloers are wanting to be left alone by zergs which is not part of DAoC...

Do you solo? I would hope so considering you seem to know what a soloer wants. Or are you biasing your opinion on a few posts on a forum that you think represent all? In case you haven't noticed, people who post actively on forums are a very small percentage of the total population. Daoc isn't a solo, small man, 8 man or zerg game, it's all off them combined. Daoc functions at its prime when all playstyles are active and thriving. Tasks were never a part of daoc but I can see the need for them, however, when they promote only a specific playstyle even if it caters to the masses for now, present problems for longevity. I have noticed a huge change in solo/small man action since the change in the realm task. I could elaborate but it would fall on deaf ears. What I can tell you is, as a soloer, I expect to /release each and everytime I leave a portal keep. I don't expect 1v1, 2v1, 3v,1, 60v1. I take what comes, when it comes. I don't come to the forums to ask for incentives to solo and don't whine when I get run over. I play this game the way I want, how I want, and if it's no longer fun, I leave. No long ass posts, no crying, I simply walk away.

Yeah this post got way off topic from what I initially intended. The message is if you enjoy daoc but get frustrated with the time investment or the current playstyle at 50 then you should give the battle grounds a shot

Solo non speed visi's were perfectly playble in NF.
OF is just trash. It's a brain dead one way to go map. No where to go for a solo non speed visi other that cross your fingers and walk forward. It's terribly designed and obviously was rushed out by a dev team in a hurry to make a deadline. You can really see the care that went into NF by comparison.
Frankly between the tasks, the 1,001 QoL additions, and everything else the only real difference between this server and live is ToA and OF.... and Frankly NF>NNF>OF. Shows you how much I hate ToA.

I'm not into the 8v8 crap either... and even I think the task system has made RvR unfun. Me I always liked keep sieges, MG fights, small man, ect.
And what do we have? CoD flag respawning team deathmatch. No one cares about keeps, or holding choke points, or anything that made DAoC fun.
All people do is mass zerg over zero actual objectives.... afk task suicide, and farm levelers. It's somehow more brain-dead than live.
