Devs, is this allowed?

I have a lvl 50 pet class. If I find a clump or green/blue neutrals and put my pet on aggro then go afk. If pet/myself dies, so be it. No macros or 3rd party programs going. Strictly just aggro setting on pet and me not at keyboard while my pet kills.

Is this allowed? Thanks!

I'm 99.9% sure there is absolutely nothing wrong with this.

I think this falls under unattended play or AFK play. People have been banned for it, check the bans forum.

Seems like that guy got banned for it, or similar. Any Unnattended gameplay is NOT allowed I'm pretty sure.

It is not allowed.

May I kindly ask you to update us on the ruleset in these particular cases?
One could be confused from this thread now. Would you mind explaining us where the line to cross for 'unattended gameplay' is?

I am primarily referring to:
- a Bonedancer solo-afk-farming with his pet
- a Warrior having guard on groupmate and is stick-afk
- a Skald / Paladin / etc. afk in group with running songs/chants
- generally a player is afk in a group whilst they gain XP for him

In the light of unattended gameplay itself, I might be in need of the explanation in the difference of a BD AFK, hopping to the computer to press a button every 29min and the Block-Warrior that is grouped in a farming group, hopping to the computer every 29min and pressing a button. Both progress whilst being afk. Same goes for the /craftqueue

If the gist behind the rule is, that I must not gain ANYTHING to PROGRESS my character while I am not responsive (at the keyboard in front of the computer) then you gotta swing the banhammer seriously and wipe half the population of the server within weeks

I'm not seeing the big deal as to why this is bannable... There's not much to gain with afk pet farming as pets kill pretty slow. Also someone gains a lot more going afk for 90% of feather raids than someone who sits with pet on aggro for 3-4hours. I do understand if they are there 24/7 however

People just need to stop trying to exploit everything they can. I love people banned for crap like this.

All of those are unattended game play. Your character is playing the game and you are not there. Why is this hard to understand?

Good. How often has this been punished yet when someone is AFK in group?

It is much harder for the dev's to notice if someone is afk in a group unless the group says something, and if they are PLing someone they most likely won't of course so this tends to get missed.

I won't stay in a group where someone does his buffs or PBT or whatever and then afks and does nothing but that's just me, but I also don't happen to tell the dev's although technically I guess I should.

AFK leveling is NOT allowed and it SHOULD be banned, which it is when it is detected.
