bd + what duo - Phoenix Freeshard

hi,

long time daoc player, decided to start playing with my brother again, just like back in the day on MLF / mid.

I will be playing a bd, question is, what class should my brother play, in order to maximize leveling efficiency as a duo ? Shaman aug for buffs and some heals? or aug healer for celerity for BA main pet ? Or some other class?

BD + skald or invite a random skald for bd + healer

Skald, for what? Is it more superior to an aug healer? Aug healer has also speed (you can run to KT mob spots fast with endu pots and aug speed) + celerity and base buffs. Skald has dmg add and melee dmg and speed, but that's it.

In RvR, sure. However, I am talking about PvE and the fastest, most efficient way to level to 50. Which skald speed doesn't really contribute that much to.

no professional on this matter, but i would think shaman specc-buffs give far more than cele

the speed is very useful though and especially on this server is a factor that shouldn't be disregarded, even for leveling

shaman+BD AOE-dots could make for some nasty farm and fast XP too though, and if you are purely looking for PvE endgame-farming will be stronger with a shaman too

How would that work with a shaman? BD pet facetanks bunch of clumped up mobs + BD and shaman AoE dot them? do the dots stack? can the pet really tank that many mobs without dying, and hold aggro?

Dots do stack.

1) find yourself a nice place of clumped mobs
2) have bd pet run in to get all to one spot
3) shamy (with endu, LW1 + tireless) double-cast AOE curse them in order to ensure they are slowed, then double-cast AOE dot (until you get +X for spell resi from RA)
4) shamy goes kiting (if some resisted the double cast for the slow, use your AOE instant curse when they are near whilst running circles)
5) shamy dots again
6) bd dots
7) enjoy the loot n XP.

Not quite. If you want to pull all 150 or so mobs, you're gonna have to bodypull

Shaman + RM or skald is the best for moderna farming. Skald pulls quicker and safer but RM will speed up the killing a ton. Shaman dont actually need help to solo pull the whole camp though

As for the OP question, anything with speed really. BDs dont benefit much from grouping while leveling. Just run around and duo the quest items. You wont be grinding a ton.

For RvR, skald is basically a must have.
