Love Newest Iteration of RvR task (porting, though?)

I am really digging the latest version of the RvR task.

Actually, it really is just an upgraded version of the old task, and I really like how this one is working out.
The 15 min credit is an awesome idea, the random keep taking and 60 min domination are all great. I also really enjoy then turn in system..


Only one mechanic I can't get on board with, and that is the flag porting. If this was removed, it would be perfect daoc rvr.
I think an incentive to take flags is good idea, but porting messes with the frontier dynamic too far from classic daoc.

Perhaps taking a flag gives a 5 or 10 min rps bonus, like 5%?
Maybe the more flags your realm owns everyone gets 1% rps per flag owned? Something else like that.

Just not a fan of the flag porting. I might be in the minority here. Not sure.


But like I said before, not a complain post. I'll play either way. Love all the work so far!

The flag teleports are different. Need to keep an eye on who controls what flag if you are fighting near one. Great for solo to catch up to zerg! They shouldnt teleport if any enemy is within a certain distance of the flag though. Otherwise someone could figure out the spot where everyone ports in ant dive bomb that spot.

Players need reasons to go through portal keep zones though.

flag ports also make taking and holding flags very important, and can turn the tide of a fight. I know in our relic raids this weekend, we were able to get reinforcements back to action faster this way, BUT, several relic groups HAD to go take flags to achieve this. Conversely, the defending realms could have EASILY prevented this by defending these flags. I guess it's all how you look at the proverbial glass of water.

Aye, good points.

I guess the primary reason why I don't like the porting is it negates the milgate blockades and choke points. Milegate strategy has always been DAOC rvr to me.

But that's the stelather in my I guess.

Defending realm should never be able to port.
