More ways to buy buffs.

Obviously many have been tempted to do buffbots and been banned for it, i can understand if you play alone, a buffbot is incredibly helpful. So instead of buffbots i suggest more buff items you can buy to replace the need for buffbots entirely, for stealthers and other classes that can't get buffs otherwise.

It also decrease the gap between small and large scale groups that has no place for a healer or buffer.

It's important because imagine you're a small group with 2-3 people, you lack buffs that makes you unable to compete with fg's, the same with stealth groups. This makes the game one sided like other freeshards. All groups in the game needs to have access to the same buffs, it's vital.

what specifically do you want, additionaly?

There are really cheap endurance pots so everyone can get perma-sprint with just 2RA-points

There are combined-forces pots that give you a blue version of every buff availabe

[s]There are single-buff potions for yellow Buff versions[/s] (EDIT: i was notified this is misinformation, can't check myself atm, but for now don't assume these are available)

There are charge-items that give red-buffs

There are instant endu-/mana-/health-potions

etc...

I see no reason that a small group with 2-3 people should be able to compete with a full group who dedicates space for buffing/healing classes. If you want the best buffs, group with a buff class.

I generally still don't like this "all buffs for everyone" attitude. For PvE it's fine for me I don't care, but I'd rather had every single buff pot buff removed/disabled as soon as someone enters the frontier. Balance the classes around what they naturally have, not around who buffs him/herself more from external sources.

You are 100% right. Ignore the other posters, their arguments are big reason DAOC died and why players just abused buffbots.

The buffing in DAOC is so bad and outdated.

i sense some sarcasm here, so if that feeling is correct let me clarify my post:

I am not completely against changes to buffing options. I will have fun either way, without buffs at all, with buff-NPCs for free, and variants in between like we currently have.

To me it seemed as if the threadstarter was unaware that many options are already there. He asked for a way to buy buff-items to replace buffbots. He didn't ask for cheaper options, he asked for more...which raises the question, what exactly he feels is missing from the current system.
The current system isn't cheap, but it does allow everyone to run buffed if he is willing to farm/prepare before going out.

My "what specifically do you want" was exactly just that, a question about what exactly he wants.
No subtext, no implied accusation that the current system is perfect and everyone asking for more is a m**** or anything. Just a simple question to be specific

Well i'm sure you will get your wish once everyone else is gone from the server and you'll be running around with no small groups or solo players to feed you rps, see it as a investment everyone get buffed and think they have a fighting chance and then the slaughter commence, a 2-3 man group should be able to take down a fg of course if they play better and not being beaten by buffs, otherwise you'll have what happened to the other freeshards, couple of full groups running around with nothing to kill but another group.

The game has never been about just fg's only, there was stealth groups that added on fg fights, and there was a 2-3 man group that took down fgs on occasions, it was chaotic but a beautiful mess of endless fighting, everyone had chance to rise above themselves regardless of their quantity, quality beats quantity any day of the week.

Without equal buffs, you leave out that cog wheel that made it all tick for everyone in the game.

That what daoc rvr was and should be.

First of all I am not running with a full group since 2003, so I will most likely only be in a small man groups here or solo.
You want better buffs so your 2-3 man group gets better and simulate a 4th invisible unkillable group member sharing his buffs. You want the benefit of the buffs but not the additional player. This is a discussion as old as the hills and will lead to nothing as it did 15 years ago.

I just think it's easier to balance things when you don't need to think about classes having ways to get buffs from sources other than grouped players.

Did i spread misinformation? ops:
i was told the single pots were stronger than the combined ones, if that's not true i'm sorry.

I only used combined + red-charges myself, and didn't check my source, i'll edit for now
