Starting today at about 6:00 pm cst I am unable to stay connected to the game. I am having terrible lag followed by inevitable LD.

My internet is working just fine. I ran speed tests and continuous ping to several addresses. Everything was working as expected.

I have reset my router.
Restarted my computer.
ipconfig /release /renew.
Turned off my firewall.
Shutdown antivirus.
I have no idea what to do next..... help!

Same here. Even the website is laggy for me. Can't patch the files, it's going at about 1 file every several minutes. US East. I constantly have problems with this server and getting a smooth connection.

First time ever this bad, but I'm in the same boat.

SUPER slow update, checking files.
Get logged in and immediate lag
Go LD in SF

Power cycle all home networking devices
Check internet speeds ... 150 MB down 12 MB up

Try to log back in and now I'm stuck with a full loading bar, but won't actually put me in game.

Website also super laggy.
(edit) ran ping test
avg 200ms, 25% packet loss

West Coast US

Having same issue here. Two days ago everything ran fine. Now when I ping the server Iā€™m losing 40% of the packets. US EAST - XFinity ISP.

Was happening to me too. Little bit of lag when I logged in, then it got bad and LD. Anytime I tried to log on after that I would immediately LD if I could even get past the load screen. Same thing happened a couple of weeks ago, with the same problem connecting to the website, with some people saying they were having the same problem and most not having a problem at all. Went away the next day. In Houston TX using AT&T.

Many people with connectivity issues of any kind tend to use a game-focused VPN gateway to work around bad routing and bad peering of their ISPs.
Maybe you should try one of those as a "bad connection" is nothing we can fix from our end.

...particularly on TG Raids I do see a lot of ppl having linkdead after the griffons of Hurika and Torst despawn when boss got killed.
Where does this linkdead come from at this very special event?
Wed 20 Feb 2019 11:17 AM by Ashok
Well, the bosses do spawn tons of adds when they die, right? Prob that short data spike causing it.
I pushed this boss-thingy to the devs, maybe they'll have an idea.

Thank you Ashok. Worth a look. May it be on client side when the graphical, immense changes (despawn of a screen full of animated griffons at once) cause the game to visibly stop and thus (i.e. window dragging) gives the client a moment of pause.
as far as I know, the netcode of daoc is not very happy with loosing/stopping data transfer...

I've had no connection issues at all until yesterday. My internet speed is very fast. You're saying it's something on my end and not yours? nothing on my end changed and i assume is the same for many people that randomly got this issue. which is still happening today. So there is no fix?

Remember that the server is in Europe, if you are in the US, regardless of how fast your internet is, any routing issues from point A to point B and vice versa (which has multiple hops) will create a packet loss and create a connection loss.

I have been at 5 tg raids lately, everytime from the beginning to the end I have 4 - 6 LDs, mostly in the Tunnel or when the mass of 300+ people move toward the destination. I had a Nvidia gtx 970, an Intel I5 6600k on a Gigabyte Z170 Mainboard with 16gb RAM. Plus I got a 100mbit Internet connection and a Ping between 10 -15 ms. To be part of such big raids is usually fun. But not with this bad fps. I usually lower the resolution to 1024 x 768, effetcs none, all names but grp member names are off. All is set to classic. And still...I get very bad fps plus LD all the time. Some days ago I replaced my gtx970 and put a gtx2070 in. Nothing has changed. Still bad fps, lags and LD all the time. This sucks! Has anybody any idea where I have to look at to make the game more fluent and playable?
I am living in Germany, other players from Germany say they have NO problems at all, with less good hardware...

Normally, You should have no issues connecting from Germany. However, there can be problems with how you connect. You didn't say but does your PC connect to your router via cable or WIFI? If WIFI, try with a cable. WIFI can pick up a lot of jitter from interference.

Also, your MTU (Maximum transmission Unit) ie packet size may be too large which can lead to timeouts and LDs.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maximum_transmission_unit

Here's a test to determine what MTU size works best with your router:

Thank you Mac, I will try to change the MTU asap. Also I will try to lower the transferrate at the NIC from 100 to 10 Mbit and see if that works better.
I will report then.
