Free respecs - Phoenix Freeshard

I've never quite understood the aspect of dark age where you have to pay/farm to adjust your character after being level 50. I've always felt I should be able to alter my character to my playstyle whenever I choose, after all i spent the time leveling it up and i want to enjoy playing it, and sometimes I may want to try a new spec or ra spec.

I'd really like to hear both sides but personally I do not see a downside to letting people play their characters as they choose, and while I appreciate the free respecs from 1-49 why not carry it into 50?

Yeah the respecs are realy a hold back for some casual players that cannot pay the 2++ plats just to try a new template

Free respec can be abused because of buffs. Honestly if they just allowed 1 free respec a day to a level 50 it wouldn't be broken. Especially if they made it either kill your character and respawn losing buffs or made you logout and lose buffs or other possibly abused relics of respeccing.

Hmm every time I've respecd my shaman it drops all my buffs, maybe I'm missing something there. Is there any other way this could be abused?

Timed buffs man not conc buffs

Oh my bad didn't think of that. What if it was shifted to 1 respec a day like an earlier post said?

I like the 1 respec a day model (or maybe 1 a day and they stack up to 3 max thatd be sweet)

What are some cases where the timed buffs could be abused? Honestly can't think of any where the time investment going to respec each time wouldn't just make it like..a huge waste of time...and kind of silly to do?

So, ranger is one example. Repec full pathfinding every death 23minute buffs mean they could just respec full melee and bow every death and supplement with buffpots if they happen to live through the 23minutes.

I'm not sure about chants, which stay after porting. So respec with purple PBT running.

Stealther poison a bunch of weapons the respec. Was a bug with MoStealth staying after respec stealth in beta.

I'm sure there are different ways than I listed. I'm sure most wouldn't but when you are eventually a victim you'll know why.
