RvR Timer Idea: Doors Closed for 3m, Then Open for 30sec -- 1st TP in is free

This way groups can clump back up

It rewards pvp wins with a respawn timer

It's better than everyone having their own individual [edit - Language] timer

Wow the current system feels really bad to play with sorry XD I know there needs to be some sort of reward for killers vs killees but having a 3m timer every time you die is rough.

PS this is Miorons idea NOT MORON Mioron and it's a killer idea I just wanted it to get some visibility

The reward is that the player who killed you gets it all and the loser nothing. Daoc already has a winner takes it all mechanism. There is no need for further punishment if you are not part of the sadomasochism community.

@keen The Reward is to buy a little bit of time when actually defeating enemys in your own frontier, its NOT about punishment!

@relvinian instead of porting back player, just lock the telekeep doors for 3min, then open them for 30s. This way u acheive the same without diverging grps due to different timers

What about people just porting in? They shouldn't be affected by the timer.

What if you miss the 30s window because you had to afk for 30s? You're now at up to 6 minutes wait.

Or you released slightly later than the rest of your group, while the doors happened to be opened, and didn't make it through in time? Now you and your group have to wait 3 more minutes even though they're all outside and ready to go?

I appreciate the attempt to take the original concept and improve it but this really doesn't make it better.

What do you mean "people just porting in" ? You port in for free w/o any timer currently. It's not like you have to wait for Glasny THEN wait for the timer.

If you release slightly later now you still have to sit and wait out a 3minute timer so.... Still a better solution than the current.

Maybe I don't understand what you're suggesting then?

I understood this as:

- PK Doors are no longer interactive
- They open every 3 minutes for 30 seconds then close.

If you port in while the doors are closed, you're f'd.

If your group happened to be lucky and release while the door was opened but you did not make it, then they have to wait for you even though they are through.

I think he means, players just porting in. The title of your post is "For RvR Timer Leave Doors Closed for 3m then open for 30sec".

Player A logs on to RVR, ports to the enemy PK. Doors are closed as you suggest for x-3mins, Player A sits there, penalized and hasn't started to RVR at all. It's not a good suggestion.

This needs to be removed or reduced until a better mechanic is in place. If this is solely for relic defense (The current relic system is not very good either way), make it so that when a relic is picked up, the timer kicks in. Rps are flowing, I don't think anyone is worried about killing targets not worth RPS. We are what 2 weeks in and people are RR6-7. That took a long time on live. Certainly not 2 Weeks.

Okay I see what you're saying now and I totes agree.

So lets say on ur first port in you get popped outside the PK? After death u spawn inside and await the 3min (or possibly less, PROBABLY less timer, or maybe u even hit the 30s window but youll still be moving with groups of other players who have also been awaiting the timer)

just gotta make it so peeps cant release home and abuse a tper
