why would it cause inflation?

It would inflate high-UT-prices, while deflating low-UT-Prices...
me and my freinds are making a fortune selling literal crap currently, so that would definitely be harmed.

You just answered your own question. I like searching the market explorer for good deals. This won't happen if there's an easy button. I don't mind doing some hard work to save a few plat because people don't know what they have. If there was an easy button then that goes away. No thanks!

single items going up isn't a market inflation though

and for all we know, having all the high UT items be sortable might even show that there are many of them and noone needs so many and it drives prices down.
To be fair, noone needs a 100UT item. It is ridicolously easy to build a temp with just the stuff that drops from 45-50...actual demand shouldn't be tooo high

The logic behind this is foolish. When the only items I want to buy, high utility, goes up in price - that is inflation. Why would I care if low utility items would become cheap? I don't want to buy them so they'll just sit and rot. If you're making tons off low utility items it's because people don't want to filter through and find the good deals.

You'd be hurting yourself why do that? I don't agree with this.
