Buff charge items

I was just wondering if buff charge items (rings & bracers with STR/CON and DEX/QUICK) have been removed from this server. I remember the classic servers being a bit of a letdown due to those since people were obligated to swap into a buff duration/effectiveness suit and replace a temp buff every few minutes to compete. Same with alchemy base buffs, haste, and celerity charges. Do these exist on Phoenix? Thanks!

Dang. I got my fill of popping pills every 90 seconds to keep buffs up on the 'no buff bot Classic' servers back in the day. It still screws classes balanced around having self buffs and constant timer watching/hiding to rebuff was not fun. That's unfortunate, thanks for the response.

So you got rid of buffbots so folks had to actually play all classes, but you put these nonsense buff items in to make PvP tedious and terrible again? Oof

Part of the reason for no buff bots, as I see it, is also the amount of online accounts at any given time, if everyone would run 2 accounts.. The server would cap out way too fast.

Seems like Buff NPC'S would resolve all the buff issues. (Yellow con like Live)
Popping item buffs waiting 3 mins for 10 min buff and the others Potion buffs seems primitive and out-dated. I don't get it.

This is such a simple fix.

If they make buffs too much available, everybody and their sister would make stealthers, which would create the epic shitshow that was the i50 beta phase where they had to cap the amount of stealthers online.

If you want buffs, group someone with buffs.

Charges and Potion just make the game unbalanced and create a requirement to use to compete. They also destroy the balance of classes with self buffs and the purpose of group buffers. Just remove them the game already

Buffs create huge disparities that hurt the balance of the game. I get that you like your self-buffer, but really, why should buffs exist in first place, which give artificial advantage? They create large disparities that favor large groups over small groups (as if numbers weren't already an advantage--it's called 'win even more' design) and create significant pressure to build groups around specific classes, weakening the diversity overall.

To give examples of performance of classes without buffs:
A caster unbuffed will cast at 50% cast speed--wow what a debuff! Now he can't solo--why shouldn't he able to?

Without buffs, all classes perform like a joke in this game. And if you get rid of buff potions/charges completely, you've tailored the game such that only very specific visible comps are competitive. As long as the rest of the trashy classes fight amongst themselves, I suppose it'll work.

Buffs are deeply classic so it's not going to change, but I only hope to illustrate the absurdity buffs provide, which most players have accepted uncritically. So what's worse, no buffs, or all buffs? I think no buffs.

There are buff charge items in the game for spec dex, spec str and acuety with 75 value that are very much used in pvp groups. Also spec AF which can be crafted on to an armor piece and is frequently used.

I am not going to address the buff pots, it has been discussed to death and what is now is what it is. If people leave because they don't get the same value of buffs as on live or from buffers in groups then so be it, this server won't satisfy you.

My VW doesn't really classify as a self buffer because my self buffs are exclusive and I can still benefit from all the buffs we are talking about. My main problem is the hassle of juggling charges and potions, carrying gear to switch out for charges is just another annoyance. So if you think the game would be better if anyone was buffed.... Wouldn't an easy fix be to just increase everyone stats permenately by the charge buffs amount? at level 50 every gets the +75 str/con , dex/qui and all bases...… Wouldn't that just me so much more simple and put everyone on equal grounds? Classes that use self buffs should still get some boost of what their buffs would do on top that.... I know it will ever happen but....

afaik you can activate charges from inventory here, so no need to juggle them into your equipment.

Also there are combined buff potions and combined reg potions.

2 potions and 2chargeitems give you full blue buffs and regen + purple Str/Con Dex/qui

If you add another charge item you can also have specAF

It really is that much juggling/management. The cost of constantly recharging though is a different thing
