I would think it would be far easier to just add more character slots than to create sub-linked accounts.
afaik there is no way to advance the character selection screen with more slots (its hard coded). So one account can only have 10 characters per realm.

It's possible that you could make a second account with different credentials, and that if you only ever played one of the accounts at a time, it wouldn't raise any red flags.
Since account sharing isn't forbidden, and is left to the sharers to ensure they don't break the rules, you could have a friend (who doesn't play the game) make an account and you could "share" it with them. Again, as long as you only play one at a time, and don't realm switch within 12 hours (treating both accounts as one) then I don't think you would be breaking any rules.
I'd want to get the green light here first before proceeding with anything, but I think that fits the spirit of the rules. Or I could be out of line, and will get yelled at for this suggestion. But then at least you will know for sure...
1.1 Multiple Phoenix accounts are not permitted.
There may only be one account per person. Measures are incorporated to detect multiple user accounts. This includes creating an additional Phoenix account when banned or suspended.
1st offense: Warning and all but 1 account will be deleted. The remaining account will receive a 3-day ban.
2nd offense: Permaban of Player
A perma-banned player is NOT allowed to create a new account! Do NOT lend your account to a permabanned friend.
If you play from the same household (example: husband and wife, father and son etc.) you must play the same realm. If you try to play different realms, it will be considered cross-realming.
