Damage Cap Question

Is the melee/archery damage cap formula this one: Damage Cap = EDPS * SPD * 3 * (1 + (SPD - 2) * .03) * (1.1 + (0.005 x spec) )

or is the damage cap when your Damage Modifier exceeds 3 and thus is capped at 3?

Also does the damage cap value (whatever it is) mean no hit can exceed that amount of damage, even if you use critical shot (archery) or if you achieve a critical hit (normal bow shot, or melee attack)?

The 3 in your formula is the damage modifer so yes for 2h, for 1h you can remove the spec part and for la there is a penalty/bonus. And crit shot is just damage x2.

Thanks - so the damage cap is x2 for crit shot, x1 otherwise - but will a critical hit (up to 50% damage bonus) allow over normal cap damage too?
