Delay Closing DF and RvR Tasks

The first few weeks should be about leveling, trying different classes, and helping out new players to DAOC.

Closing DF in 4 days and opening the RvR tasks is catering towards a hardcore audience. Most players are still leveling, and should not feel pressured to be level 50 and temped already.

All this will do is widen the power gap between players and even realms. Reconsider this decision.

Enough people are high level that DF needs to get locked by keep control to prevent the circlejerk of grey ganking.

Why would you not want the high levels to get out in rvr and start taking keeps and fighting each other, rather than ganking xp groups?

This is a solid choice to redirect the action into the fontiers, where it should be.

Somehow you think they will stop grey ganking? The RvR task will literally be in your leveling zone. The keeps are in every frontier zone. Darkness fall is one of the best places to XP and earn feathers. Guess what the realm that got the headstart will now lock DF and be at a bigger advantage, as they cruise to RR5 in a few days.

Well, if Hibs control DF they can purge the mids and albs and have a relatively safe place to xp until they lose enough keeps to lose control of DF.

Right now you wipe the gankers and they just port back in and go back to ganking.

So yeah, locking DF will absolutely redirect action into the frontiers because realms will want to control DF to xp and farm seals.

If it gets locked and hibs control DF for a week straight and therefore get an advantage, then they earned it and I salute them.

Level 50 groups are already in the leveling zones. At least now they will be taking keeps and killing each other not just running a loop around xp spots to gank greys.

Closing DF at least provides a safe(r) environment for the realm that owns it and encourages people to take keeps (which takes their focus AWAY from people exping)

I have been levelling exclusively in the frontier and DF since lvl10 and must say that DF seemed much safer (but too overcrowded) since sunday noon.

The first day ofcourse there wasn't much happening, but since saturday the first gankers were circling the XP spots. Got ganked in DF 0 times. 4times uppland, 3times Dodens, 2times Yggdra (well 4times, but survived half of them). I know this is just confirmation bias, but in DF you have many realmfriends stacked closely and effectively clearing one side requires at least a FG with a bit organization.

The frontierzone-spots can be ganked by basically anyone who knows how to navigate the frontiers, regardless of their level. Closing DF early will make the frontiers even fuller, and that will attract even more XP-gankers since there will be more "rewards" for the long travel.
