Autoloot Split

While leveling solo, I received a lot of good items for my class. However, once grouped, we all received items we could be use and had to waste a lot of time swapping stuff around. Why not just have the split for those who can make use of the drop?

That would be ridiculously complicated. Who gets a chain shirt in a Merc, Reaver, Cleric group? Who gets cloth in a 5 caster group? And those are basic examples, its gets really complicated fast once you start trying to decide who needs the stats the most.

I don't think what you are asking is reasonably possible.

There are times where you have to communicate and work as a team/realm.

While I agree that it would be complicated to make a big system to fix this, the biggest annoyance I have seen from this problem is duoing. 100% if the time the loot is swapped. I always get the loot that my duo partner is supposed to get and vice versa. If this could atleast be looked at it would be great. I hate having to constantly swap loot because there are so many drops, it really slows things down.

This is 100% of the time. Tried on multiple occasion.

I duoed 1-45 (or so) in beta and 1-20 so far since release. It is not anywhere near 100% that the loot goes to the "wrong" character. Keep in mind that only 50% of the loot is for a toon in the group, and sometimes the "random" 50% is going to be something that the other toon can use. Again, this is ridiculously complicated, how would you even make it decide who is the "best" toon for a drop?

I duod 1-15 w/my sister who plays a friar and I played paladin. I received every piece of leather/staff while she received every piece of reinforced/chain/weapon 100% of the time. Yes 100%. Also they have already made a system for loot for your class specific drops, so it's already in the system. Now just needs catered to groups. I'm not saying it's the very next step they should take but this is a suggestion post I 100% agree with.

To help clarify the ease of this, just make the loot go to the player/class that triggered the loot to spawn, e.g. Friar in group triggered staff to drop send loot to friars bag. Seems pretty easy.

I also want to clarify that only ROG drops should be in this system not mob specific drops because THAT is too much to ask for.

i believe the change is problematic because it messes with grouplooting rules. The Grouploot basis feature (afaik round robin) gives everyone loot when it is their turn. You would have to change the complete distribution system to make this happen, as the loot is distributed AFTER dropping currently.

It depends on how they would implement this type of system. I think what the OP, and I am for sure, are referring to is just the random gear that drops based on your class. Like leveling up solo you only gain loot for your class, you will not loot ROG cloth gear on a paladin if solo.

Levelling up solo you do not only gain loot for your class. 50% of the ROG is random.

I'm sure the devs on here are smart enough to figure out something easy for this idea, if they want to they seem super competent but some don't think so I guess :p

The rog generation happens way before the auto loot distribution, at that point all class hints are gone. Under level 15 (only generate rogs for your group) combined with the round robin loot distribution per loot category (rog armor, rog weapon, rog accessory are individual categories just like xp loot or seals) you can run into the pathological case you are describing where exactly the wrong class gets the rog. This should no longer be the case after level 15 as you then also find stuff for other classes and hence the order varies.
