daoc is installed... - Phoenix Freeshard

when i do the install link it asks me do I want to uninstall, how do i get around this I dont want to uninstall it!!!!

same issue, doesn't give me option to install it fresh in another directory. Path is grayed out too.

Only option is to uninstall my live client?

Mine is a bit of a different issue, but my Phoenix patcher isnt working? and my Phoenix connect isnt working?

I'm not sure if the patcher is done, but it seemed to stall after finishing a horned mask item, i closed it out and attempted to connect. It asked me to "specify the game directory, login, password and host. then press enter"

I started up the patcher again, but i'm getting a blank cmd window.

Anybody figure this out? I want to try out Phoenix but don't want to delete my DAOC live that is already installed. I want a separate install.

Try running the Setup again in Administrator Mode ( right - klick on DAoCSetup.exe - run as Administrator ).
Worked for me on Win10.

How does this fix the issue that DAOC is already installed?

I'm glad to see admins or moderators or any type of support from Phoenix read the forums ... <sarcasm off>

Copy your Live version to a new folder (PhoenixDAOC) and install Phoenix in your new copy of the game. If it doesn’t work, it takes ~5min on my terrible net to update between live/Phoenix.

This works. I put it on a different hard drive than my live copy just to be safe. Don't have to patch between the 2.

If you have a working live installation you can also just copy the folder to wherever and use that copied folder

The above solution (Creating a copy of the current DAOC installation in a separate directory) should work since the patcher only scans the directory it sits in.

I find it somewhat comical that Slithic is getting roused by issues self-caused through lack of knowledge. Admins can't fix the loose screw between your keyboard and chair
