Hey, I wanted to play an eldritch at the release, were they any good in beta?

What spec would you recommend for 8v8?

Depends on your favourite playstyle.
You could go to red NS or yellow one and rest mana for disease, condebuffs and such or full mana for bombspec.
I think a doublespecc ist most prefered but in the end it depend how you feel comfortable.
And you should go to charplaner and do a little paperwork

Eld is arguably the best caster in the game.

In which category you mean best?

I would recommend Light, with a secondary of Mana. Going 46 Light will get you the highest delve AoE dex/qui debuff, as well as the highest delve DD at 45. NS is at 40 Light. You miss the longest duration Mezz spell only going 46 light, but being able to get 28 mana for the AoE str/con debuff is nice. The secondary in mana will also get you a disease, and a decent pbaoe. This was always my favorite spec as Eldritch, having access to baseline stun, plus all the goodies in light spec is great. Alternatively you could spec secondary light just to get the utility stuff, and use mana as a primary to have higher pbaoe damage.

They have very good utility, fit in both caster and tank groups, are very good solo. They are the most rounded caster out there with the sorc.

For solo play you can go high light 45+ rest mana, but for group play you either do 40 light 36 mana or 39 mana 37 light (second spec is my favorite)
