Animist vs Enchanter for PvE farming??

So I’m really on the fence on which class I should make for the best farming.. I remember when beta testing that I had made a Verdant spec’d Animist and had pulled about 10-15 Relic Keep guards, and because of the abs Verd gets at 32 (long duration) and the higher value abs buff (short duration).. I was able to pbaoe from the pet and kill all of them with ease.

But compared to an Enchanter, who are more mobile, have damage shield to kill higher level oriole mobs, have defensive healing proc buff..

I’m at a loss of trying to figure out which is going to be best..

Basically chanter = more mobile and can kill higher con purples because they kill themselves on dmg shield.

And animist= way more tanky pet, and easier to hold aggro because of self casting pbaoe from animist to the shroom.

Please help me put things in perspective!! Lol

Oh yeah I forgot to mention, when I killed those relic guards, I did have Druid buffs on the shroom. And I will always have a mentalist/Druid running with me at all times for the crack and buffs

thanks for the nerf

Whatever lol. Do you have anything constructive to add?

And that wouldn’t be nerf worthy imo... If you have 35% abs on a tank pet from spec alone, along with full Druid buffs..? No nerf. Lol. Esp due to the fact that they set it to where animist could only have 15 shrooms in a permitted given area.. what more could they nerf?

but seriously:

"abs buff and npc abs from stats no longer stack additively"

"in the high end pve example it means you can no longer reach 90% absorb (cap) as animist but likely see something around 80ish% or with the 10% instead of having around 85 you'll be around 75ish"

toodles

So in your opinion, enchanter would be better pve wise?

And what do you mean by abs buff and npc abs from stats no longer stack additively? I was thinking that the 9% long duration and 25% from short duration, coupled with Druids’ af, s/c, and con buffs would be what’d make the animist pet more tanky than the chanter compatriot.. just because they don’t have the ability to do so.. that’s what I had meant anyways.. I’m not really keen on all the math behind it as you described or really understood what you had meant..

Well. Nvm. Just looked at the charplanner they have now for specs.. animist no longer has the 2 different abs buffs that are stackable.. they completely removed it from the specline :/ sad

They didn't remove it - both spells are in the same line

Armor Absorption Buff (Bomber)

Basically - it used to be that your pet ABS would get higher with druid buffs and on top of that the ABS buff would add to it in an additive way.

Now your ABS goes up by druid buffs, but the ABS buff don't add to it directly but reduce the remaining damage by the percent of the buffs

Let's take the necro for example

if you assume you reach 40% absorb from buffs and got the 9% self buff (let's take 10 to make it simpler) and 100 incoming damage:
before: 100 - (40 + 10) = 50
after: 100 - 40 = 60, 60 - 6 = 54

The running joke used to be that Ench and Ani didn’t have to check patch notes to know they got nerfed, back in ye olde days.
